Stoic philosophy had a profound effect on the early Christian church. Letting go of inner fears can be immensely liberating; self-control and focusing on the things we can control one can live a fulfilled life.

Since you are in the path of making videos about deep thinking and philosophy, I would like to ask you, if you are willing to, to make a analysis of the Book of Proverbs in the Bible, it's one of the most deep philosofical books out there. Thanks for another incredible video boss.

Thanks, brother. I'm far from well-versed in Christianity, but exploring Proverbs could be interesting, provided I believe I can add something meaningful to the conversation.

Great start to my day! It occurs to me that if one 'gets' this, one is already on that path to mastering it, while those who would benefit most from this aren't yet ready to hear it. Does that mean one has to learn it experientially before one can 'get' it? Thus these philosophers serve to confirm and remind daily of what one is learning? Thanks L.L.

You make a valid point. But isn't that the case with most lessons - that one has to at least have *some* interest in a subject to gain anything from it? Even if forced, we may listen but rarely remember much of what we were taught.

I noticed that in the whole video, there have never been a single image of a woman. This got me thinking that ancient philosophy you presented in this video seem very masculine in some aspects. Anyways, thanks for the video, it was short but very informative. I liked how it varied in topics, and I appreciate that you marked sections of this video. Good job!

You're right, and I've thought about that myself. Almost all philosophers were (and still mostly are) men, which may, at least in part, explain why 90% of our viewers are men. However, we're working on Lysistrata - the incredible Greek play that humorously depicts Greek women withholding intimacy from their husbands as a protest against the Peloponnesian War. We also have a few poetic works of Sappho in the works.

@@TheLegendaryLore Sounds cool! I am looking forward to that. By the way, I prefer your shorter videos, like this one, to videos longer than a hour.

@@janrychly6651 Many of the great texts are really, really long, and they deserve to be presented in their entirety. But I do enjoy creating somewhat shorter videos, too, which is part of the reason we started adding these thematic explorations.

This one was intentional. AI is pretty good at maintaining historical context, if you don't explicitly ask for something else.
