To answer your question it will be based on your aptitude during training and whatever their needs are then your personal preference. ( this video is not RN its USN and the role its showing is called a swimmer

Zafar Cantine it’s recommended that you’re already a strong swimmer prior to joining. The instructors won’t be there the whole time(if you go in with little to no skill, they’ll probably kick you)

Yes, you need to be a strong swimmer before staring school. You also need to have a good aerobic capacity. I would suggest that use the ability to run three miles without stopping and a good standard. If you cannot make that run currently then start to build up until you can make farther distances without having to stop to rest or walk. You can build up to this standard. You can also begin by walking, fast walking and eventually running not sprinting just a continuous run. You can begin on a treadmill and work your way up but eventually transition to and outdoor run. Eventually match the seasonal conditions you will be working out in for school.

you’ll be given either AWR or AWS as a rescue swimmer . You can choose a favorite but it ultimately comes down to the detailer . we call it rescue runner school because you really just need to be able to run your ass off . If your trying to prepare id just get comfortable doing underwater exercises and running long distance / fast pace .

Unova Official no. Only enlisted aircrewmen get the gold aircrew wings. Other aviation rates, such as ABH, AE, Ect. Don't get the wings of gold.

If you want to be aircrew you need to tell the recruiter that you want to be a rescue swimmer. You will need to complete and pass PST to get excepted into the program. The PST consist of a 500m swim freestyle then push ups sit ups and a 1.5 mile run. If you score well enough you will get excepted to the program and got to boot camp once that is completed you go to aircrew school after that you attend rescue swimmer school this is where you will become a AWS or AWR. This will determine later on what type of helicopter you will fly in. AWS flys in mh60s and AWR flys in a mh60r. Hope this helps let me know if you have anymore questions.
