An insight into the first 2 weeks back on the island. The Calf is uninhabited over the winter so the old stone farmhouse is very cold and damp and the outbuildings have similarly been exposed to the elements. Our main jobs are building, decorating, repairs and lots of cleaning to get the island up and running! I hope to showcase the work carried out by myself and Mike, who make up the Estate Team this year. The Estate work often goes on behind the scenes, so as well as providing nature and wildlife content, I would also like to incorporate our daily tasks and the challenges that we tackle
to keep the Calf safe and running as it should - all part of life on a remote island.
