I hadn't realised Jock was such a skilled working dog, the constant wanting to round up sheep is hilarious 😅. Calendula overwinters particularly well when it's autumn sown, then you get early bloom on vigorous plants.

He spends half this life traipsing across the fields and 'watching' the sheep. When I appear, he then proceeds to round everything up!

Yes, I think starting some hedge saplings in spring, to fill in the gaps in the hedge would be a good thing. Happy Christmas. 💖🌞🌵😷

Hi Geoff. You've had more rain, meaning more mud. I hope Demi will be ok, it's probably a sprain. or a twist. She was cutting in the footage and looks ok. Susan is better off inside, I agree. The barm comes in handy yet again. The dog crate hayrack looks great dies the job and hopefully will cut down on waste. That broody duck hangs on in there. When it comes to sheep, we have always found Jacobs to be the wanderers, once settled they are fairly ok but any new stock usually go awol and have to be brought home. Jock is funny. I'm sure you are finding life much easier now you live on site. I hope you shoulder is ok. Thanks for this vid Geoff. Johnny and Jacob.

I remember you saying your Jacobs are the wanderers. I wonder if it's because my original 4 ewes were older girls from my friend so they really weren't used to having loads of space. And so, as a result, as the flock has expanded, they just stay where they are?

Hey Geoff. Yes when we first bought some Jacobs- for Jacob. 😂 we had a lot of trouble keeping them at home and I remember neighbours looking at the first Jacob tup we had, they certainly wouldn't want him serving their ewes. The first lot eventually settled. Yes it could be that your original 4 were just not used to such space and now, like ours yours stay put, we still get the odd wanderer.@@BrimwoodFarm

I just heard on broyan farm in the usa that all the old Christmas trees they have left over go to feed goats just a thought can't you ask locals if they have a tree drop it of a yours.😊.

Yes! I did that last year and ended up with a great mound ... the goats loved it! And the bare trees burn well too so offered them cut up to my campers to get their fires going.

I hope the wind hasn’t been too bad over your side of the country, i know my wet cardboard hasn’t all stayed put😂😂😂. Will you get more mushroom compost in or another sort?

My wet cardboard is now in the hedge! Hah. SOME stayed down, but a lot is all over the place. Oh well. I'll probably get mushroom just because I know of a cheapish source.

It's working quite well. There does seem to be some wastage, but a lot less than previously.

hi i thought Suffolk had. sandy soil must be a loam were you are the land use to have clay land drains brought to us from the Victorians cheers..😊.
