Same here, except there's always like 50 tons of plates left on it, every single time. This one and the seated calf raise.

I use this machine but I do it for shrugs.

Because often you can squat a lot, but your grip strength will fail you before your legs get tired.

You'll find your grip strength failing before your legs.

What are the upper plate bars for? I understand that that the upper handles are for partial squats, deadlifts.

The placement of the weights on the lower or upper weight posts affects the resistance curve. As you lift the handles, the horizontal distance between the axis of rotation and the lower weight posts increases, while the horizontal distance between the axis of rotation and the upper weight posts decreases. For exercises like squats and deadlifts with an ascending strength curve we want an ascending resistance curve, so the lower weight posts should be used. For shrugs which have a descending strength curve the upper weight posts should be used. I can only deadlift 315x2 with a barbell but with this thing i did 545x1.....

Yeah used it for the first time today and did way over what I can do with a bar. Made me feel strong asf lol

The distance from the axis of rotation to the handles is larger than the distance from the axis of rotation to the weight posts, so you are lifting the weight with a significant lever advantage compared with a barbell deadlift.

Is It more Stable to deadlift with this machine compared to a trap bar deadlift? With the trap bar you can end up dancing with the weights which looks dangerous when you're lifting serious weights.
