I've said it before - Trump is like an internal company audit that exposes all the security holes in your system - so they can get fixed. (That seems to cast him into positive a light.) The fact of the matter is we never realized the presidency needed to be childproofed.

I’m a Christian and have been horrified that our country elected the most openly un-Christian person as our President. Christian’s are supposed to be generous, caring, giving, selfless, and loving of all people. We need to be examples to the world of how good humanity can be towards one another. Trump is the polar opposite of all that. He has brought our country shame and disgust. Get him out.

Yeah ... if only those strong conservatives would have been around several years before Trump even appeared on stage to actually prevent something like Trump from happening :/. I mean better late then never but Trump is not the cause he is a symptom of a much broader problem within the republican party. And namely the fact that racism is at the base of the todays republican party. Just look at the decline of black voters over the last few decades, at least since the 1980s. The conservative movement and republican party have been hijacked by extremists and mavericks who perverted conservative values. I hope the sane conservatives can change that because I fear if they don't they will become irrelevant as political party because the changes in the demographic clearly don't support them.

Same here. The US under Obama weren't perfect, but it was something to be inspired by, a country moving forward. (With an orange sociopath tweeting from the side lines about how Obama should resign after 2 (!) US citizens died of ebola.) The US under Trump were about three months of hilarious train wreck ("it's okay that we voted for a toddler, there are adults in the room!"), and then 3 years of horrifying train wreck. Seeing so many people capable of recognizing that they were conned, and drawing the conclusions, and voting under the worst conditions the US has seen in decades ... it is _such_ a relief, such a pleasure to see sane and responsible citizens take back control over their nation.

Service and commitment to protect each other requires sacrifice, and that sacrifice often goes hand in hand with an expectation that those you sacrifice to protect will uphold certain American values that go all the way back to the Founding Fathers. When he says "these are Americans", I think he means, these are the Americans I would die for. Just giving my interpretation.

Everyone has something they need to come to their senses on. This particular thing is a very large group of the Republican party at a time when the world needs the principles and ethis of freedom and democracy protected and held high, and countries to be galvanized in defending and protecting it in a united way. Canadian here. Also important for me to see. I sent it to all my family. I can’t lie when I say my thoughts on America changed in the last few years (not even right away, I gave the benefit of the doubt) but seeing this made me feel hopeful again. I know it’s hard to come out and go against something you’ve been born into, but seeing people do it has made me realize that there are many others who may think the same way but are just scared to come forward (and I don’t blame them). We also know that not every American citizen is dumb or a bigot or whatever, but when you only see videos of his base basically crying in his presence like he’s a God, you can’t help but wonder what the American people really want. @NNA S Not trying to tell you who to vote for, but that would be what Trump wants you to do. The reason the nomination didn't go to a more liberal candidate like Sanders or Warren was a strategy by the Democrats to get people in swing states that hang more center or are not far-right Republican. Sanders and Warren are just barely on the outside of the Overton window for this election because of how far everything is to the right. Voting for Biden will slowly move that window towards the left so that, in the future, a candidate much like Sanders, Warren, or AOC will have a better chance of winning. Biden might not do anything significant, but Trump can make things four times worse. Significant change still might not come in our generation, but I'm willing to sacrifice that so that in the future the change is the next generation's present.

People especially those on the left had tried to warn everyone about Trump, but a lot of his supporters who are misinformed, white lower-middle-class and the wealthy voted for him and did not listen. It's good to see people in the video realizing that they've made a mistake, however the damage has been done and he has a chance to win another term which will then make this country far worse than it is now.

Former conservative here, it's been tough to see all this exposed. Like a boil coming to the surface. In the US and other countries. The way things have gone with the lies, greed, not caring about people. I will vote for the future of our societies and for democracy down the line. I no longer believe in a conservative system.
