I’m Navajo/Diné and grew up in the Rez and I can confirm...they are real. And there are lots of true stories of skinwalker and you can find there skins they wear with coyote skulls...family members mite be a skinwalker and we don’t know it....they are real.

Last night me and 2 friends went to this place called Watchung Reservation at around 10:30 pm and as we’re walking down a trail my friends are pointing out stuff that looks creepy but i dismissed all of it as I could perfectly see that the objects were just trees or logs. Then, as we’re walking we stop dead and I’m looking at this thing about 30 feet away and its over 6 feet tall, and kind of hunched over looking at the ground. After about 5 seconds of me looking at it, it turns it’s head at us and we run as fast as we can back to the car. Earlier on the trail, my friend says he saw dust everywhere and he told us that before he saw the creature, he smelled the stench of rotting animal. When we got to my friends house, my one friend who didn’t see it told us two who saw it to face back to back and act out what we saw it do. He recorded it and when we watched the video, me and my friend both were standing the same way (Head down towards the ground, arms dropped, a little hunched over). Then, we both turned our heads towards our friend in the exact same way. We were looking at descriptions of skinwalkers in the car after i brought up the idea that what we saw could have been a skinwalker, and when we saw this one picture of a human-type creature with an animal skin on its head, we both said that it was identical to what we saw. When i first saw the creature, i thought it looked like a very tall old lady because to me it looked like a white bonnet was on its head, but the animal skin and skinwalker description fits it so much. Real scary stuff

I've had a experience with a skin walker and I'm a native It happend when I was 17,me and my family were camping and I heard a deer by my tent and i said go away then I heard a growl so I got up and grabbed my dad's rifle and I looked in to a face of a wolf so I shot it and my family woke up and we ran to the car as it chased us my dad was bit in the arm and he fell so i shot but I missed and I was clawed on the face and I fell we were dragged to the car by my other siblings and the skin walker ran off I don't know why it attacked us or how it was making different animal noises but I have been back there before with a few friends we tried to hunt it but so far no luck

I love this series! I am noticing a pattern though. Most of these are assuming that people were widely more willing to believe in something so counter intuitive to modern empirical thinking, just because it exists. Even if you don't believe in anything supernatural, there are numerous scientifically established animals, phenomena, and especially diseases, (Or that bizarre trend a few years back of people dressing up as clowns and killing people in parking lots) that most people refuse to believe exists until confronted by overwhelming evidence. if most of these creatures existed, I don't think society would be all too different, because most people would refuse to believe they existed, even when presented with a fair amount of hard evidence. Again, not meant as a criticism of the show. I've been binging these for the last 3 hours or so, and I love them. Just noticed it, and wanted to point that out. ^_^

Adding to this hypothetical scenario: If we allow for the Existence of Skinwalkers, this would also mean allowing for the existence of shamanistic beliefs, at least those related to their subduing,, ousting, and protection against them. This would mean for a much greater interest in Native American spiritualism, and likely a lot more leverage by native american groups seeking to see reparations for the misdeeds done unto their tribes and ancestors. I can definitely see a lot more use of Shamanistic rituals in regular society for the express purpose of setting up areas to exclude skinwalkers or to contain them. Heck, I could see a whole host of niche markets opened up by those seeking to make a profit off of these dangerous shapeshifting monsters (Bullets pre-doused with white ash being the very first to spring to mind.) In addition to this, I do have a query to broach with this: Would this only apply to the Skinwalkers of Native America? If so, what happens if one of them goes abroad? Not just south or north into Mexico or Canada, but what about international travel? What prevents a Skinwalker from setting up shop in Europe or Asia? What about Africa or even Australia? All places where the knoweldge of combatting them would be, if lucky, found out by accident or spread by some other shmucks travelling form regions that DO know of them?
