Im newly married too. My mother in law is just like my mother. She's such an understanding and practical woman. She earns a lot. But extremely humble. Many times she makes coffe for me and gives it in my room when im working. She tells my husband to take me out at weekends. She teaches him about a woman's emotions and how to take care of it. Im blessed with the best.

You are truly blessed. MIL should be aware of their possessiveness. If the MIL has love for her son naturally it should flow to the DIL and same way receive back same respect and love from DIL. It is a give and take relationship.

This mother in law reminds me of my late mother in law She was very good friend of mine She would help me in household chores, cooking make hot snacks when I return home from work and support me in every way I was truly blessed to have her I miss her even now though it's been 16 years since she passed away

If you r having problems with your mother in law talk to her as your mother instead of talking to husband. Try to understand n make her understand as your family, not every but some problems are start resolving n the rest will be sure as said every relationship takes time to develop. Experience count ✌. Very true,all saas are not bad,it really differs from person to person,a senior doctor of mine was unable to conceive after 7-8 years of marriage and she used to say that her mother in law never ever tried to bully her like many other MIL do,by God Grace now she's blessed with a baby girl and her MIL celebrated the daughter's birth with great enthusiasm.

O God.. baniya weddings mein pyar nahi hota sirf business or sauda hota hai.. I know bcoz i had a lot of baniya frds and I have been to a few baniya weddings too.. I can't forget about my 1 baniya friend who himself told me about his wedding fixed in favor of 40 lakhs from the girl side and he was feeling happy due to amount of money and not because he was getting married... @Nishtha Agarwal yes you are right. The point is it doesn't matter or should not matter if one is from baniya community or not. I think if we take anything in exchange for a divine relationship like marriage then its business be it in any form if not money directly. But nowadays word dowry has become obsolete and its replaced with some form of fake love marriages and by the time bride or groom realizes its too late because its both ways nowadays bcoz girls are also involved in asking for money to get married as in this hi tech era the greediness has reached to a new level which is far beyond the imagination in front of a small word dowry.

@Nishtha Agarwal thanks for your response but you know to some extent the girl side families are responsible too for dowry. If no one is willing to give their gem daughters to the greedy beasts who ask for even a single penny then the scene would have been different. But one more thing is unless the boy gets educated himself enough that taking dowry is actually a big shame the things will not change. But somebody already commented that only boys raised by women who themselves don't have self esteem and respect in their own life behave like greedy dogs looking for bones(dowry). But I don't understand why girls marry these kind of men because if a man is ok with dowry then 99% chances are he is not going to be a responsible person and will not work to support his family but will always look for free n easy money from time to time by abusing his wife and or he will be just a drunkard guy whose own life is already useless and he will not spare a single chance to make her life partners life useless too. So girls should immediately take stand and say no right before finalizing a marriage proposal. How hard it is to say no. Actually its easy but still feels difficult. Shadi mein zaroor ana movie is a perfect example 👌 👍

I always believe this and tell my friends not every saas is bad .. unfortunately my saas had passed away before my marriage but still some of my friends judge my dead mother in law and tell me you know things wouldn't have been so easy for you if she was alive ..I mean the person is not there and you are assuming and judging how she would be .. this is so wrong.. I have heard amazing things about my saas and would like to believe she would have been really sweet to me .. of course things happen but happens even with my mom.

I disagree, specially in this sash bahu relationship pey thali khabi khabi ek e haat sey bajta hy, .. little to share .. during lockdown I made Lunch for 6 people, did the dishes my MIL watched serial for all day long and after lunch when I am in rush due to my virtual meetings .. I told her can u please clean the dinning table... She said .. itna sab kar lia oh vi karlo .. I am getting late for my another serial.... So ... What u say... Taali konsa haat sey baja....... U guys r right non every one is same , but still their is huge problem in every House hold.

I think we should focus on ourselves.. How we say and do things and not compare mils and moms or any one for that matter. If still something does not seem right, we should bring it up timely, in a polite ,assertive and dignified way
