So, what about costumes/uniforms? Beyond the expense of washing the pieces yourself, do you have to pay for any parts of the 'costume'? Are these clothes other people have worn before you? What about the shoe issue? I've read that there are specific shoes for certain costumes. What do you know about that? Can't a cast member wear their own supportive sneakers?
@riss_papa4 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to pay for any aspect of your costume besides the shoes! They sell nonslip shoes for QSFB but everyone else needs to find their own shoes elsewhere (black and no logos). There’s so many stores nearby and Walmart has nice cheap ones. Also if you want your name tag to say your hometown instead of your college you have to pay $5 for a new one. And yes other people have worn the costumes before you, but they get washed very well. They never smell or anything at all

@Mark-pe2sh2 жыл бұрын
The gas station that she is talking about, assuming she is in Flamingo, has had a special price to trap people for years, it has nothing to do with Disney. It is on 192, their sign said last gat to I-4. They are closed now. The stations on Disney property are competitive with their pricing. Other stations are posted and competitive with nearby stations as they are everywhere.

Thanks for this video! I was accepted for fall advantage 2020 and am trying to prepare and learn all the tips before I leave! The program fee was still $390 when I payed recently! I'm also trying to figure out things since I live in WA state and will be flying down... I still need to buy my airfare and want to do that asap but I don't know when to fly down and what people normally do. I don't want to spend a ton on hotel costs. Also, I'm still trying to figure out the whole timeline haha but is the week you get before you start working and get to start resort hopping and doing fun things with roomies when you are already in your housing and have done traditions and stuff already? Any and all advice would be appreciated!
@riss_papa4 жыл бұрын
So your check-in day is when you move into your housing and go to casting to get all of your paperwork in order. You should fly into Orlando the night before that and plan on staying in a hotel just for that night. There cheap ones in the area. The next 3ish days will be totally free, so spend that time getting to know your roomies and setting up your apartment (buying anything you need). That’s when you’ll be able to go to disney springs and resort hop. Once you have Traditions (usually a few days after you get there), you’ll get your Blue ID and can go to the parks and will start training right after that!!! Hope this helps :)

@TheWholeEntireCake2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. Last I heard, the rent is between $175 and $230 per week, per person. That includes utilities and internet. Pay is $14/hour and assuming you work 50 hours a week (that’s what current attendees of the DCP say they work, if not 70 hours a week on the high side) you’d be making $700 per week which is $2100 a month. Rent per month would be around $700-$800 plus you need groceries, transportation fees etc. you won’t have $1000 left over after all your bills are paid while attending the program.

Have you heard of people living outside of the Disney complexes to try to help with living costs? Would it be better (if you’re worried about money) to try to get a full time job there for 6ish months instead of doing the college program?
@riss_papa4 жыл бұрын
People definitely live outside of the complexes but that’s usually for personal reasons. The price will be the same or higher. I know a lot of people who want their significant others to stay in their apartment with them and disney complexes don’t allow anyone who isn’t in the program to sleep over. I still think the DCP will be a better option because it’s easier to secure than a full time job at Disney and you have a community of people with you. It’s also a short time commitment. If you complete the program, you’ll have a good chance of being considered for a part time or full time job at Disney after that
