The best place to start with Peter Gabriel and Genesis is "Firth of Fifth" from 1973. The Gabriel era of Genesis is my favorite music, and he is my personal hero. He should be knighted, if only for his selfless dedication to humanitarian causes and justice for all around the world.

Great review. It's such a good song. So easy to listen to and enjoy. My three favorite PG songs are In Your Eyes, Solsbury Hill, and Heroes. Heroes is in the last scene of Stranger Things S1E3. It was the perfect song for that scene. That song and MADE that episode. Absolutely epic. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Solsbury Hill is a real place, overlooking Bath in England (the 'city lights' lyric). Peters recording studio, Realworld, is located a few miles east.

One of my favourites but it has never 'scanned' properly for me, always sounded 'off'. I then learnt that it is in 7/8 time rather than 4/4 and he starts the lyrics on the 5th beat and finishes on the first. Once my head got around that it suddenly made sense. Enjoy!
