LIFTED Offroad Geo Tracker Transformation

Күн бұрынWe take our 1991 Geo Tracker and turn it into an off-road worthy rig. First, the body and suspension get lifted 2" each, for a total of a 4" lift between the two lift kits.. Then, some Super Swampers get fitted to 15"x10" American Racing wheels. We then fabricated our own steel bumpers, which are cut to match the contours of the body. Mounting plates were custom made and plasma cut to fit the dimensions of the body and bumper. The final touch was a rattle can paint job like no other. Stay tuned for follow-up videos on this project.

I just bought a 95 in the upper midwest that had original paint and no rust. At all. It was only driven in the summer for 10 years and then it's been in a shed for the past 15 years. My plans are 31" rubber, locker, 3 to 1 transfer.

It's amazing how well the little guys work! I pulled two Dodge Ram duallys that were stuck at the bottom of a wet grassy hill. I'll stick with the trackers 👍🏼

Where I'm from we have something called RUST. It really sucks, that frame looked mint. Nice build, the only thing I would have done differently was impressed that sweet yellow paint. You don't see many yellow vehicles nowadays :)

You sure don't see many! If we feel nostalgic we can always look at the interior yellow paint, haha. Eventually this will be our rig for crawling around in the hills and forests and for going hunting, so the camo felt necessary 🤘🏼

Nice man...look forward to sing it...I'm doing a front and rear dovetail to one of mine...and my sons is a daily /light trail were turning into a knight Rider theme. ..if you need any info on them let me know if I can help (my channel is all about trackers) or even parts...these things are getting rare...

Thanks man! The seats were bought off Summit Racing for $36 each, and the mounts/sliders were taken from an old Ford van at Pick n Pull.

We are planning on doing so in the near future. She currently needs a clutch, so once we get that swapped out we are going wheeling 👍🏼

Thanks for the video,. I'm doing the same thing to a '96 Sidekick. Question: What steering wheel adapter did you use? Would like to replace stock steering wheel (and have the horn still work - but that's not critical). I'm fabricating custom interior door panels as mine were trashed. Just laser cut the cardboard test patterns yesterday.

We used a Sparco quick release adapter that we found on eBay. It was not expensive, but it works great. Currently we don't have the horn hooked up to our wheel, but I imagine that it would be pretty easy to do. I'm really interested in seeing your custom door panels!

@@FormulaJake COVID has my access to the CNC machine still down... patterns are done. Waiting for access. Happy to share the final digital files with you, but I need to get them cut and installed before I'm 100% confident... waiting and waiting!

Where did you get the steering wheel and the lift kit? And does the steering wheel have a horn?

We found the steering wheel at a local auction, and the lift kit was the cheapest one we could find on eBay. The steering wheel no longer has a horn.

Did yo have to upgrade anything else to mount the body lift?

We had to unbolt the airbox, get a longer filler neck for the gas tank, adjust the emergency brake cable, and modify the shifter for 4WD. Either cut a bigger hole or bend/modify the lever for the 4WD shifter.

We did have to do some cutting for the front wheels/tires. We cut the back of the wheel well, as well as beating the pinch weld in with a hammer to provide enough clearance. The rear fit fine! Even with 31" super swampers, there wasn't much work needed to prevent rubbing.
