they had many wallbutton problems. get an 880 LM and you’ll be good to go.

Is there a danger of the cables coming off the drums when you lift that door manually ! Or do you only lift the door to the height of the dead bolt, and never all the way open.

No they work fine manually with no changes or limits to anything.

Hi. I have the 3800PC and I had to use the manual release during a power outage. I was able to disconnect it with no problems, however when I went to reconnect it the manual release would not reconnect. It feels like something may have come undone inside the unit. How do I remove the front cover to have a look inside to see if I can reconnect what has come off inside the unit?

good question, we use a newer model now and i don’t really remember how the older ones come apart, maybe google a schematics. theres a screw above the plastic cover on top of the machine but that’s about all i remember.

There are two 1/4 hex screws underneath. This was a few months ago so u probably figured that out by now.

You should come by my place and do that since that technique doesn’t work for mine LOL. I was able to get it in manual but now I can’t get it back to the automatic lift.

some machines have had that problem in the past, normally you pull the rope down one more time and it clicks in but sometimes the cable on the inside can jump the pulley. At this point i'd take the cover off and take a look.

@@ALLProGarageDoors Yeah there is no lag in my cable, so I can’t get a click out of it. It pulled and released just fine, and I even reset the circuit breaker with no luck. Clicks the lock button and makes it sound like it’s going to open for a second, but then just sits there. Maybe I will just punch it

@@ALLProGarageDoors I put the garage all the way up instead of bringing it down while yanking on the cord and it actually worked.

@@KevinMphotography Wow! better refrain from pulling that release in the future if at all possible. It should have connected in any position.

@@futbol1972 Yes sir! since that opener doesn't physically connect to your top section using a conventional drive arm like most machines do to keep your door locked they came up with this deadbolt type of lock that activates automatically when it closes the door. it's a great machine!!

I pull my emergency release and the door doesn’t move up or down

pull the release then push the remote, sometimes the machine is pushing down on the door so hard it doesn't release... other times the cable inside the machine has come off the pulley, and worse case scenario the release sleeve has broken.

@@ALLProGarageDoors On the elite 3800 PLD model the machine or "motor" cant push down on the door. Since the door closes by gravity + torsion spring forces.

That’s surprising to hear because we’ve done so many of them and had so few problems. Occasionally i’ll come across one that is on a door that is way too big and heavy and it doesn’t function properly but most of the problems with these machines are caused by a bad install, the limits are not set correctly or the cable tension monitor is improperly installed… stuff like that.
