One of the big Baja Designs selling points for me was the changeable lenses. Changing a light between amber or white and between spot, combo, or flood only costs you the new lens for about $20. With most of the other lights, if you want to change from spot to driving then you need to purchase a whole new light.

Thanks for the great video! The TIR optics on the DD lights are definitely more efficient than a basic reflector (even a superior quality one like BD has) and it clearly shows here. It seems like the DD SAE driving pattern would definitely be the better choice unless ultimate distance is desired. I'm really curious how a 4000k DD driving light would compare to the BD squadron spot. The only way to do that unfortunately is to buy an SS3 pro in selective yellow and swap the lens to a clear one. For normal offroad and back road driving the BD spot has an edge over the SS3 spot because of the broader 9° pattern and more spill that naturally comes from a reflector cup.

People should think about why baja gives the smoother yellowed light. This helps alot during the night because as the offroad vehicle is bouncing up and down the smoother light does not bounce around as much distracting you from the road. Also as your eyes go from a lite up area to maybe an area that is less lite up, your eyes adjust faster with the lower temp light. It's a big deal when you are cornering or driving at higher speeds.

The baja designs uses Cree XPL leds while the Diode dynamics uses the newest Osram W2's. I have been building torches for many years and this new W2 leds absolutely blows away the Cree leds. The output is around the same but the Osrams have more Lux which allows them to throw significantly farther farther the cree's. I'm absolutely in love with the new Osram W1, and W2's, also the new Luminus SBT90.2 is insane!

4900 lumens? I just got a pair of the squadron pros and they're awesome. I thought I saw somewhere they put out 3300, but don't remember where. I'll try to find it online or on the box.. think i still have it lol

Very good video. It was helpful, as I was in a dilemma whether should I go for Baja designs or SS3s for my bike for long distance lighting. SS3 spot seems to be in the same league or better than Baja designs racer optics. If you have the driving pattern of Baja designs and SS3’s can you pls compare and upload a video.

how far down range was that tree? Have compared against something farther down range? To me, it looks like the DD is a true spot, very concentrated, where BD is less concentrated throwing off wider pattern. Would really have loved to seen a comparison at two different ranges.

It didn't help that your levels dropped, so you were either hard to hear and it hurt a little or I could turn it up to hear you an have the high-pitch frequency tear out my eardrums.
