My husband, & I, have been searching for a channel that tells GREAT horror stories. It sounds easy, but too many people try to tell tales... in a half-assed way. But not LIGHTHOUSE. You folks KNOW how to tell a twisted tale! This story gave me chills & made me think. GREAT JOB, LIGHTHOUSE!

I've never heard "walk-in" before. Where does it come from? I've always been told the same stories but they're always referred to as Changelings.

I thought changlings were fae. And the human child taken was whisked away to "fairy world." Or otherworld/realm...depending on what story you're reading. I've never heard of a walk-in before either. But now that Nicole here told us about what it is, it seems a pretty legit explanation, lol

@@altarush I think the doctor was taken by the void instead of her. The void "isn't discerning", and the parents couldn't get in touch with the doctor afterwards. It's played off like the record of him was covered up by the hospital, but maybe he was taken and they're covering up that he stopped having existed.

Thank you for this tale. I was up at my parents visiting over Christmas and I was listening to this in my room. My mum came in to ask me something and ended up staying to hear the end of it - your will now have a new subscriber. You managed to really ramp up the tension and fear in your voice. What a narrator you are - excellent.

To this day, Gilgamesh is still running from the void. Nonstop, from world to world desperately trying to find his way home while also taking for himself the greatest weapon of each realm he has visited in order to fend off the void until he finally makes it.

EXCELLENT job and excellent story. That sign-off about making sure to run for 12 minutes was a Rod Serling level outtro! This story resonates with me... I was a literal bubble boy. Severe asthma back in the days before corticosteroids and inhalers. Back when problems breathing was a much more fatal condition. I could count on two life threatening attacks at least twice a year thanks to my allergies. There was the spring, which was bad... and then there was late fall... my birthday being in November. The late fall attacks were way beyond bad and thanks to plain old probability, this inevitably happened on or right before my birthday. These were the speeding trips to the hospital, lips turning blue, vision going dim attacks which made every breath a physical struggle... and fighting the urge to cough because losing that fight and coughing took away precious oxygen. I ended up with IV's and in my little bubble... a tent of pure oxygen so what little breath I could take could feed my starving cells. I stayed there for weeks, fighting. As a result, every year around my birthday is kind of melancholy as at some kind of biological level, I remember the yearly fight to stay alive that my birthday always brought.

The very beginning terrified me because I know exactly what he is talking about. My earliest memories are weirdly… nothingness. Even more weird my earliest memory that ISNT nothingness is of a wide shot view of a barn. I’ve never been to nor seen a barn in my life. I’m sure there’s some sort of explanation behind it but it’s always bugged me…

I had the same thing too, my earliest memory was me sitting as a passenger in a car driving, with the setting sun glowing through the window, I reach up and touch my head, to realize I had an bandage wrapped around my head; I asked my parents about this and they said that I had never had any type of head injury as a child.

I would have assumed that when her friend was taken that the void wouldn't be after her anymore or at the very least it would be reset to how strong it was when she was one year old. A life for a life seems far. I was disappointed when she was at the hospital and the void came back stronger.

When I was in high school, one of my friends got his birth certificate to get his driver's license and found a half filled out death certificate. He asked his mom about it and found that when he was born the cord was wrapped around his neck and he stopped breathing for 5 minutes. He never talked about a void or hands, but he did have some neurological damage

My first was born with her heart stopped and not breathing. They brought her back in the operating room and again when they got her to NICU. They had her stop breathing and her heart stopped again for a few minutes. While that was happening I nearly died due to a complete placental abruption. She was three months premature. The umbilical cord was less than 12 cm total length which is rare and she’s the only known baby born with the condition to not have any deformities, brain damage and the only one to survive not just birth but past one year old. She is a straight A student and graduating high school this summer. When she was two she told me she saw an Angel in the NICU.

I survived Sepsis, almost 2 years ago. On my first night alone in the hospital, in my fever stupor, hopped up on pain meds and IV antibiotics, I swear that I “saw” a group of people at the end of my bed. They were facing inward in an oval discussing me. Discussing whether or not I would live and go on or if they would take me. I hazily fell asleep and awoke in the morning. I guess the group of men and women, none of whom I recognized, decided to let me live. And I have, every day since.

This has the most accurate observations. Confidence gets you anywhere... literally, running is aweful. However....cycling would have gotten the MC a lot farther a lot faster...and bonus....it feela like flying
