When making deals with the fae, what's traded has to be of equal value- the only thing he loved more than his daughter, was his wife. So the Emerald Eyes took the love he had for his wife. But, you can always regain the love you had for somebody if you try hard enough. That's what the Emerald Eyes had so foolishly forgotten, that was the loophole in the contract: they may have taken his love for Kara now, but that didn't mean he couldn't gain it back. If he hadn't worded his terms so carefully, they would've taken Kara herself away but, as the contract stated: his daughter would have both her father and her mother in her life.

@@ermacjones4821 Disney fairys aren't accurate at all to the original folklore In the traditional Irish folklore they can be evil and have no problem ruining human lives, they're terrifying far from. "tinkerbell". Also a changeling is from the original Irish fae folklore and isn't creepy pasta original. They're movies that have a much more accurate fae where they do stuff like turning people who offended into creatures which is accurate to the Irish folklore. Trolls are also fae.

(Spoiler alert, since people dont want to watch the whole thing before they start reading the comments not expecting the people who HAVE to be talking about it) So what exactly did he lose at the end? The love for and from his wife? Thats it? Seems like a small price to pay to get your daughter back alive and healthy and YOU still get to live to raise your daughter. I think the author needs to come to the comments and clarify what it was so bad he gave up to win, because it sounds like a win in my book. He got his daughter back, he didnt get stuck in an alternate dimension gambling away his soul until he loses it all. And all he gave up was his wife not liking him anymore? Uhmm, ok.

I have a theory but without a little more of the story I’m not sure if I’m right. With the way he was talking about wanting a drink or a smoke at the end I think he may have lost some self-control? He makes a statement that he’s older now and had self-control. Something the baby wouldn’t have. But I think it’s most likely that he lost the result of his life’s experiences. Like now he doesn’t love his wife and the lesson he learnt from drinking and smoking no longer mean much to him? But I agree the price isn’t really outline (I know that the author probably didn’t want to outright say it, but I would like to know what it is too).

Billions of people in the world still have arranged marriages, and most long-married couples who married for love lose their passion for each other after 10, 20, 30, 40 years. Politeness, consideration, and respect for each other make a happy life. Without those, no marriage is happy.

This is just a story of a weak, selfish man, booze, ciggies, and gambling was/is the most important thing in his life, you can read more into it if you really think about it.

I loved this story so much.... Kudos to both Stephen and the writer, I'd love to see this turned into a series where this Fae dude finds new in every episode 😎

18 minutes in and I'm like: "He should punish the little fae, treat her/it like its actually his daughter just to spite Emerald. Maybe get her to turn on him."

Spoiler So in the end, what did the fae take from him to get his daughter back? It hints at a lot of stuff, but I'm terrible at figuring out these things in stories.

He mentioned that he suddenly didn't love his wife anymore when he got back; I think the Emerald Eyes took his feelings of love for his wife. The only thing he loved more than his daughter was his wife but since he expressly stated that his daughter will have BOTH her mother and father in her life, the fae couldn't take Cara herself so they took the next best thing: his love for her.

That was FANTASTIC! Thank YOU for the awesome narration of this story! The Fae creep me the heck out above all else. I think it’s because there’s so few stories on them😁. xox luna

Moral of the story, don't tell strange homeless folks that you'll give them your firstborn. Just don't. Not even as a joke. Not worth it. 0/10 would not recommend.

You always discover the most unique stories which become SO always become magnetic with your phenomenal interpretation! You breath so much life into every character you play that these stories become incredibly real. As a result, we become so invested in the lives of those characters they feel real and we feel their fears, sadness, confusion, and sometimes even their relief and even joy! You’ve given me so many hours of pure entertainment at a time when I’ve desperately needed to escape my own reality, that I feel like I owe you a tremendous debt. Although it won’t be much, I’m heading over to Patreon and going to sign up so that I can at least provide a little support for your channel! Thank you so very much for giving so many of us a chance to take a break from the stress and worries we are forced to deal with! 💞

Ok, quick fey contract question. Does firstborn mean the first child you intend to make, or could he sell sperm, and a have a child from that as his first born? I mean it's heartless, but his much loved wife wouldn't run the chance of losing her baby?

Technically I think it's the first child that's born from you; so I think this would be a way out of it but it sucks for the other person who loses a baby for no reason
