Awesome video A t5 led will do wonders for cactus seedling I've used a nano dome and a t5 from Walmart for a few years now and it's perfect also good because you can fit different trays at different stages and manage the air and moisture intake for each tray you use simply by using the saran wrap trick your already using and opening as needed although I do recommend a heating pad spaced 2 to 4 inches below the dome if you live in a colder environment it really speeds things up just set the heat pad and light on a timer so they go off together creating a cooler night environment and helping prevent mold spread

Great video! I've got 2 small pots in that flowering phase arpund 2:40 mins of the clip. I am wondering if you have a recommendation for a light like the spider one but smaller scale and price point?

So good information. Just a question, is it posible to grow lophophora or maybe ariocarpus on those ligths? I mean, no sun at all, just the spiderfarmers. In a growtent maybe? Thanks
@SacredButtons
@SacredButtons 19 күн бұрын
@@jacobgarcia3597 Yes, Lophophora grow very well exclusively under grow lights. Grow tents are great because they keep the temperature up, which cacti like. 🙂

Do you always have them under those lights? Or do you put them outside on a balcony for instance? It's a bit "industrial" looking with the metallic shelving. Not sure I would appreciate them as much if it's not possible to grow them / place them in a more beautiful way.

putting them outside exposes them to risk of rust fungus and black spot and more. its best to keep them indoors particularly if you live in a non-arid environment.

Got another q? For ya if u don't mind.. How close do u keep ur lights when their a month or so old? I'm starting to see the areolas popping up and I feel like maybe I should put my light closer. I probably have it 14-16in away now.
@SacredButtons
@SacredButtons 13 күн бұрын
@@gbeagle417 It really depends on your specific light. As they get older you can move them closer and closer. Just keep an eye on them and make sure they don't start burning, turning red. If they do they need to be moved away from the light.

Does a red stressed plant but properly watered plant suffer from the light higher intensity ? What's a looney? I sprouted several hundred Minnesota Hardy Yucca this year using Tupperware and paper towels, pretty intuitive so far. Well done video!

I'd like to grow the peyote Williamsii, for religious purposes. Since this cactus is on the endangered species list now. I can't help but think how trampled down so many plants are just falling victim to the thousands of people walking through South Texas and even Mexico. They should allow people to grow them and maybe when the people aren't trampling every thing down there? People who love this cactus could replenish the ones that are being destroyed. A lot of construction has taken over in these areas, and the peyote? I fear will go extinct in the wild? Where would I get seeds to start growing? One would think that since peyote is endangered it would be more protected? So, peyote is on the endangered species list in the US,and Nothing has been done to protect it? Doesn't make sense to me. Thanks for your video. I just subscribed.

@@marlamays2131 It's crazy that this plant is a schedule 1 drug in the USA. It makes it hard for people like me to do any work repopulating. We sell the seeds on our website but cannot ship to the USA unfortunately.

Can i use my 315w cmh's for cactus? How far from the plant will you recomend??
@SacredButtons
@SacredButtons 10 ай бұрын
With high-powered lights I would suggest starting at three to four feet and then keeping an eye on the cactus to make sure it does not turn red (burn). Then the cactus can slowly be moved closer to the light to see how it responds.

What percentage u putting those spiders on? That's the same light I have and was gonna use my tent to grow my adolescent? I was told its eight yrs old.. Do I still want my light far away.

I don't use the dimmer on mine. Yes, even mature plants are sensitive to too much light. I would keep it two to three feet away.
