Hi Nick. Suggest that you cover the top of the insulation material with earth or clay about 2 inch thick. do not use the dry earth/ clay. mix it with just sufficient qty of water so that you can just plaster with it on insulation top. For final finishing, take small container and mix with some more water so that you make it like thick soup. use a coarse waste cloth, dip in the solution and try wiping the top surface so that surface get fine finishing. Let it dry for 1 day. whenever the top surface get worn out, make fresh paste and apply the clay solution with cloth. It will be more cleaner and easy to handle.

Nick, wanted to ask how do you remove the used coal from inside the tandoor when you are done? Do you wait for it to cool and then bend down and pick used coal by the hands? What about the ashes? May be show a video on its cleaning 👦

I love pizza and I love nan. Can you have one oven do both? Can you use the upright oven tandoor? Or are they very different?
@SimpleNickVideos7 жыл бұрын
Hi Stan, funny you should say that, as I have been asking myself the same question. Several people have told me that they have cooked piazza in their oven, so I am going to build a new oven for cooking both naan and pizza. Should be complete end of next month so expect videos then, and we should have our answer.

Can u give us some tips I've build a tandoor but the air hole is on the side struggling to light it up first time Heard you have to let burn up all the carbon soot before you can use

Hi Travis I have done an updated video, but skip to around 7 minutes to see the tool I use all the time now. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbJ4nZBjudOqiHU.html

Thank you! How long the temperature stays over 200*C? How many times can bake meat?
@VVG9657 жыл бұрын
How many times you have already heated the oven? Inner Flower vases not cracked?
@SimpleNickVideos7 жыл бұрын
Now you are asking, and I am not going to be able to give you complete answers. I have never timed it, but it stays above 200C for a long time. It wouldn't surprise me if it was well over an hour. Actually I cook chicken in batches so typically do 12 skewers, 4 at a time. Basically good for pack lunch during the week.

Another tough question, I have heated the oven loads of time, it is 28 months old now. At the beginning I was using it every week, but that has reduced now, especially as we go into winter. Can't remember when I got my first crack, but it hasn't affected performance.
@soneysky5 жыл бұрын
How do you stop pots cracking with the heat? thanks in advance
@SimpleNickVideos5 жыл бұрын
To be honest they do crack, and I have lots of videos where I show that. When I say it is only the inside ones, and it does not affect the cooking

crushed ash from previous fires works well also for insulation.
@SimpleNickVideos6 жыл бұрын
Several people have pinged me and suggested the same as well. Personally I haven't tried it. Thanks for sharing.
