No Combos ARE the lands and mandatory. May as well just have made a blank card mechanic because half the time they're dead in the hand unless you synergize them with other equal cost combos and even then because of management of actions its all an elaborate way to act as if it doesn't have mana screw but it does

The worst thing was Becca saying "you need some defense" when the defense already there was forgotten about (by everyone, not just by Virginia). And the very next thing was turning the defense buff and saying something like, "oh yeah, this is not an attack, this will protect". Oops! :)

Many times Game the Game wouldn't finish a game in time, but then they used to interact with the chat. If they did finish early, then they would play something like Farkle, or Happy Salmon!

Tabletop did cut down the playing time, but the editing was much clearer. "some time passes" and the likes. It was a show about games, this is a game about Becca and her friends.

Basically Tabletop is pretty much cancelled, Wil had some major issues with it last season (he was not happy with the move to paygate it behind Alpha a month in advance, he seems to suggest that corporate meddling was starting to get involved) which caused him to get burned out on the show. I get the feeling it will be a long time before we see another Tabletop season unless Wil managed to keep the rights to the show and has effectively taken it with him. This would explain why Game the game has been retooled into a sort of 'tabletop lite' kind of affair. Game the game has been running for some time but as a Twitch session where they use to interact with Chat. And I'm with Hymen Hitman, Becca needs to just bring it down a notch, especially during the rules stuff, I know she doesn't mean to but she comes across as slightly condescending at times. That and they really need to do what Tabletop did, which was play through a game off camera first to help everyone understand the rules and then record the next game. Its why you get so many misunderstanding of the rules (waaaay more than tabletop did).

how is it possible people are STILL asking about Tabletop? If you were at all a fan of the series one would think you'd have found out about it's fate waaaaaayyyyyy back when GtG started to take it's place.

Sorry to say this, but WW actually knew the games they played. Sure he made mistakes (we all do mistakes when playing) but this video does _nothing_ right. If Becca starts preparing before filming, learning the game, the show would be better. I wonder who writes her script for the rules presentation? Or is she just reading random unconnected parts of the rule book?

Yeah I think playing through a game first off camera (which tabletop did) so people understand the rules would be better. A lot more prep needs to go into this show than it seems Geek and Sundry can be bothered with, thus making it kind of lacking.

This is the key thing that is wrong about their play. They are not just making errors, they are completely missing one of the key points of the game. Draw cards, chat a little, look cute doing it.

Douglas von Sohsten I agree although she probably isn’t a card game player like the other 3. And I too was triggered she didn’t use the Bone Wall to block the damage from the birds.

More importantly, that overly enthusiastic show host said more than once that she took 5 damage. If no one know the game, this is just worth looking at for, well...

57thorns The game is like a MtG Commander game (it’s a good game) and anyone who has some IQ should know that the Wall of Bones should’ve blocked some of the damage. But there are better videos for explaining although without Virginia it would’ve been a pretty good video.

If this is a video where you look at four people (or rather two to be honest) chatting about nothing in particular that might be true. But as this poses as a video about a game, it would have helped if at least _one_ of the for people had read the rules and actually knew the basics of how the game is played.

Basically Wil was very unhappy with the last season of Tabletop. He didn't like the move to Alpha, he hated that it took so long for the episodes to be uploaded to youtube and generally he disliked how the entire thing was run by corporate in Season 4. I honestly get the feeling he's not coming back to do tabletop and sadly because the company that now owns Geek and Sundry own the rights to tabletop he can't go and produce his own version of it (unless he was smart and held onto the rights himself). So yeah, don't expect tabletop any time soon.
