I've watched your videos before. I like your style... I ride a Harley, so I stay close to pavement. I have two saddlebags, maybe 50 liters... it's enough. I don't bring much. A change of clothes, a small shave kit, microfibre towel, and baby wipes (Oh Ya!). A military poncho, some paracord, a small tyvek ground sheet, a GoreTex bivy, pad and lite down bag, all in a plowpoint is my shelter. A bic, mug, spork, p38, foil, hextabs, instant coffee, and some local rocks are my mess. I eat local. I also have a LED headlamp, MxTool, my Cell phone, and plenty of cash. This gear is all I need to cowboy camp (Yeehaw!). I haven't camped this season. Mostly I've stayed in hotels. I prefer to camp, but sometimes I ride with people who don't. Happy Trails. I'll look for more videos.

My go to ‘joe’ in the morning is Madagalia d’Oro instant espresso. That and some granola bars in the morning is all it takes to get me up, and down the road to a good diner. I don’t bring a stove… I use fuel tabs, a micro fire ring, and maybe some foil. A titanium mug w/lid, a p38, a spork, powdered creamer, and a small bic. For a three day trip, six tabs is all I need, everything fits in the mug. Yahtze!

Nice video. When I started out for my first TET trip I packed my Mosko bags to its gills. When I got home I removed the things that I didn't use, and can now fit everything I need in 29L of space. I do bring a backpack which can hold 25L, but I only do if I absolutely have to. Packing light is fun!

I ride & camp solo… usually, alone. I like the fact you two ride together… two up and all on a ADV bike. Now I know from later videos you now both ride, but still you guys have genuine fun together. All the more of a challenge in minimizing your kit to the basics, quality gear….

My favorite moto-camping gear? Well first off, I agree with you about eating your main meals locally. It saves me room in my saddlebags. That said, I still love the ability to warm up, either with coffee, or an instant soup… My mess is basic: A 750 ml titanium mug, spork, tinfoil, P38, Hex amine Fuel Tablets, a bic, and a jar of Medagalia d’Oro Instant Espresso! This coffee is delicious, I have found no better. How hard is it to boil some hot water? I pitch a tarp, use a tyvek ground sheet, goretex bivvy, airpad, and down bag…. Mostly pitched in a plow-point, sometimes to the bike. The tinfoil some rocks, flick a bic, pour the water, place the mug, right in the comfort of my shelter. Medagalia d’Oro (fun to say)! Ride safe!

Great advice about “cooking “. I will bring a couple dehydrated meals just in case, but love stopping into local places and meeting people and supporting their businesses. Typically at a restaurant your getting two meals calorie wise so will just pick up some snacks for dinner and keep things simple. Just need to boil water and make coffee in the morning. :) Locals are also a great source of information like u said

Any tips on keeping the bike upright in corners? Every turn it feels like the front of the bike wants to wash out.
@fortheloveofknobs

Try and get as much weight forward as possible. Also, check your suspension sag. Too much can unweight the front. It's all about planting the front tire into the ground. Good luck!

It's true that it takes experience with gear to learn what you like and don't like. Even watching reviews doesn't tell us what we need to know, because we all have different preferences. Taking a lot of time with something that isn't ideal definitely helps us refine what we are looking for so that the next time we buy, we have a better sense of the features we are looking for! We've also found Facebook marketplace to be a great way to resell things locally, to recover some of our investment.

How does everyone feel about stopping at local grocery stores for buying and cooking one nights meal? You wouldn't bring three nights worth of steaks but buying them out on the trip works for me. Learning to cook steaks directly on the coals was a game changer for me. No pan, no grill? No problem! I go full caveman and think no steak tastes better. (Also, it makes me extra hairy where it counts) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f9OGiZukpp3Kdn0.html

Mmmm.... Steak. You're speaking our language! During the times of years we can have campfires, that's always an option. We usually choose not to travel with cooking supplies to keep our packing lighter, and always like to have backup plans in case we don't make it to a grocery store!
