I think I may have commented but the video is prompting me again. Such a good series. People do not miss what Ligonier offers. I am listening right now to RC teaching in an audio series Apologetics of the Early Church. To think I could have studied under this man, shame on me.

I dont think I ever really made that connection between Moral relativism and Mythology of the past. Very interesting analysis of the situation still relevant in 2021

Amen Sproul. Too many people have their eyes shut to the world, are completely blind to what is going on, and aren't rebuking anything in a Christ-like manner. We are living in this world, not of it, obey The Lord, and spread HIS good news for the nations to hear, so they may trust and obey. Gid bless you all.

The best of Sproul! What a great teacher. Sure he had areas around cessationism, and Calvinistic determinism where he refused to think deeply or examine the alternatives seriously with an eye to the evidence, but he was passionate about creating thinking Christians. That goal is rare.Like Francis Schaeffer, C.S. Lewis, and GK Chesterton, RC will go down in history as a great 20th Century Christian teacher.

I've spent hours and hours listening to his teaching, and he did "think deeply and examine the alternatives seriously with an eye to the evidence" and talks about that often.

Ultimately alternatives are merely chaff to discerning truths there's complete surrender to God's will, either you name it one or others Doctrinal principles, save myths...

The truth of God's eternal word is what guides the truth. The truth is only found in the Holy Scriptures. I am the way,the truth,and the life said the Lord of Glory. That settles it all. It is up to the human heart to accept or reject the truth of God's Word.

@residue junkie yeah I was going to subscribe your channel but I had already subbed it. I got the 1599 Geneva bible because that's the one that King James & the Church of England banned. So it must be the right one. It's a free download too!!!

Another great video from RCS as he brings God's glory worth fighting for. However, the world view from a postmil eschatology understanding, that the earthly powered governments (called beasts in scripture) of the carnal world, would somehow change their spots, is not likely. Scripture shows in revelation chapters 21 and 22, Daniel 2:35 that a heavenly government not made from carnal hands would descend from heaven to fill the world with God's glory. God will be all, in all, his way, with his anointed tested representatives that died as martyrs ( at the hands of earthly governmens and carnal religions) aka *first fruits* heavenly jerusalem ! revelation 20:1-15 (A-mill) Shalom in Christ 🙏👍🏻

Yes he would....he would see Nietzsche....the logical destination of a life with out God....but God has always used periods like this to instruct the remnant who survives...

Sproul, I dont understand how you can be so deceived about baby baptism, it's nowhere taught in the Canon of 66 books!

He's deceased. There's no sense in arguing about his particular theological positions in the comments. Furthermore that has nothing to do with this video.

To Robert William No man has an understanding of all Scripture. Our fellowship does not depend on dotting the i's or crossing the t's of understood doctrine, but on the shed blood of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. On this I have no doubt R. C. Sproul trusts Christ for salvation. Remember the believers of Berea were commended not for following Paul, but in searching the scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Saying that, I could not call C. S. Lewis my brother, because he believed in universalism, that all men in hell (which he believed to be temporary) eventually would look to Jesus for salvation. This is in direct teaching of Scripture and would be another gospel, which is not a gospel, so I would have no fellowship with Lewis, despite many saying Lewis was one of the best minds around in his day. Endeavor to keep the Spirit of unity as much as is possible, but do not accept teaching which is incorrect. You are a brave man to question R. C. Sproul my friend. Or stupid, I will let you decide. (Happy face)

@Danny Stowers Oh, should we not criticise any view which goes contrary to Scripture because someone who held it is now dead? That view is totally against the word of God and is straight from the pit of hell. You need to read what the Bible has to say about truth and stop clinging to mans teachings.
