Well, Animaniacs did have Spielberg as its Executive Producer, so it's no surprise that they were able to get away with so many references to other movies/shows/personalities. Hands down it's the best cartoon along with Spongebob.

@@georgewang2947 It was thanks to the Rita and Runt segment that I knew about the musical The Miserables. I saw the musical years later and I could detect some of the melodies used in the segment, I was expecting listening the part where Rita sang alone and I knew it was going to be Cossette's song. My little bro also remembered some of the songs. One night I was watching a segment about them and my father came to my room because he got enchanted by Rita's singing.

This is how the animation process got BETTER than the old style, the manual style of Disney, Tex Avery, & Chuck Jones--and ONLY BECAUSE it was the brain-child of Steven Spielberg and he want only the BEST RESULTS and he wanted the Animaniacs, Good Feathers and Pink & the Brain 'toons to as good as the Looney Tunes, Silly Symphonies, and Tex Avery whacky cartoons were--not like the infantile drawings of a 3 year old in South Park or the coarse Bevis & Butthead garbage!
