hotgritz4sho yes. Can’t recall what set this off. Val just lost her memory. So many things happened to her. She and Karen had gone through one hell after another. Best friends. Some guy knows who Val is and she’s a writer apparently then with money. Somehow, he talks her into marrying him. Gary and I think Lucy both found her in time.

What sparked all this was the loss of her babies, fathered by Gary after they'd broken up in a moment of weakness - the hospital told her the babies were still born - but in reality they were taken and put up for adoption. Of course there's a lot more to the story leading up to this point and certainly resolving it, but all of it resulted in Knots most popular storyline and highest ratings.
