I wrote this to the Canadian Consulate based in Mumbai. To whomever it may concern, I speak for thousands of people across India. Canadian KZfaq personality Lilly Singh comes to India every year to interact with her fans in India as a part of her world tour or even KZfaq Fanfest. But acquiring a visa from the Indian Consulate based in Toronto becomes very taxing and difficult for her as she has a hard time explaining her career as a KZfaqr. She has been shouted at for no good reason and for asking basic questions. They charge her different price every time she goes to the consulate; and it is a matter of hundreds of dollars. She will be coming to India very soon for her world wide book tour in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. She went to the consulate to ask for a business Visa. A lady working there told her she would get her a one year Visa instead of five (she travels to India every year) and even took pictures with her for her kids. When Lilly got hold of the Visa, it showed 3 months. And when she enquired about it to the lady, her reply was, 'They decided it to be like this'. She basically has to go back to Toronto after three months to get it renewed again. In fact, she was told that her parents (Canadian citizens) needed to surrender their Indian passports which are 30 years old and expired. I humbly request you to look into this matter and make it a little easier for both the Indian Consulate in Canada and for Lilly. You can contact her on Twitter. Lilly, get an OCI(Overseas Citizen of India) or POI (Person of Indian Origin),this includes business and way better than a business visa.

I teared up when you said, "I just have so much anxiety because people keep telling me things are about to happen, I don't know what's going to happen." Because I was away in a situation for 24 hours when I didn't know what was going to happen next for big chunks of it, and I felt so on edge and anxious. I really find that hard. And I was around people who don't feel like that or knew more. And I was tired (although I had more sleep than you). And I wasn't who I'd like to be. And it was so reassuring to think I'm not the only one who feels that anxiety!!! People don't understand.

Lilly, a fun fact for you...the Indian Consulate in Toronto sounds like the Greek Consulate in Sydney!!! They asked me to come back later because they were having their coffee...WHAT?!!! Then when all the paperwork was completed and sent off (and paid for) we were notified that they'd lost it and we had to go back to their office, resubmit and of course pay for it again!! Such a joke! On a happier note, can't wait for your Sydney show because this mummy of 3 needs a night out and a good laugh! 💖

Hey, Lilly I would suggest you to take up OCI(Overseas citizen of India) or PIO(person of Indian origin) card. That way you would get multiple visa entry to India. And you are eligible for both the cards.
