A tale of a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.

The reason Lilo gives Pudge a sandwich is as she believes controls the weather and her parents died in a storm so she thinks if gives the fish a sandwich then bad weather won’t happen to cause anyone else to lose someone. Also if you look in the background of Nani's room you will not only see a Mulan posted, but many surfing trophies and she gave it all up to raise Lilo. Which going into the next point when they first showed the film to test audiences they were confused thinking Nani was Lilo's mom so to clarify this they have the word "Sister" said many times throughout the film. Lastly some Disney film recommendations I have very few people have reacted to include: The Rocketeer, Sister Act (1 & 2), Something Wicked This Way Comes, And Bedknobs and Broomsticks

fun fact, the scene right after the Social worker leaves the first time and Nani catches Lilo in a blanket, originally Lilo hid in a clothes dryer but so many kids started doing that after the movie came out (and it can be dangerous) that they went back in and animated over it to make it look like a an empty cabinet with a pizza box as the "lid" that Lilo hides behind.

The scene with the spaceship chase through the city was actually redone after the movie was already made. Originally they hijack a plane and chase down Gantu though the city. They changed it because it involved the plane crashing into a building. Right before it was set to be released in theaters, 9/11 happened, and they made the executive decision to delay the release in theaters to reanimate it so now its just a spaceship that LOOKS like a plane.

This is going to sound like a minor compliment, but it involves something I've grown very tired of in movies, TV shows, cartoons, and especially anime, but I really liked Nani and David's relationship. David wasn't portrayed as being obsessive over her and came off as a very nice and pleasant person, while Nani didn't instantly reject him, but left it up in the air. The two have respect for each other and I really like that.

THE Disney animated film of 2002 that was considered the “spark of hope” in the post-Renaissance era. A time when interest in traditional hand-drawn animation began to wane and CGI was changing the face of animation. However, Lilo & Stitch proved Disney can still pack quite a punch with so many hits and misses during the 2000-2009 era. Not to mention, it’s appropriate you’re reacting to this when this movie hits its 20th anniversary 6/21/22.

That's right, all the backgrounds in this movie are painted with watercolours, and the reason is pretty simple: at that time the studio had a hard time financing their projects, so they had to find a solution. But this did add some extra charm, eh?

I clearly remember the marketing for this movie which was genius, having Stitch appear in various Disney moments in the trailers. After watching it, it's been cemented in my 7 year old brain ever since. There's so much to love like the family dynamic, Lilo and Nani's relationship, Stitch evolving from a destructive alien to a lovable cutie, the quotes (ohana means family etc), the songs and of course Alan Silvestri's beautiful memorable score. The end credits that showcase Lilo's photos of her new family accompanied by Wynonna Judd's cover of Burning Love is probably my favorite Disney end credits sequence too.

Here in Brazil the law in this case would be: The old sister would be able to ask for a job in court, the government would provide one (simple jobs), and if she could not keep it, than she might loose the little sister. When the child goes to foster home or orphanage, de judge sets a date for the family to prove that is on a better condition (usually a year), and has a chance to get the kid back. In this time the sister is able to visit weekly. There are cases where the original family keeps battling for years to get the kids back, every year they have another chance in a hearing with the judge of the case. For a case like this, with no serious 'abuse' from the older sister, the preference is always try and provide a better living for the kid with the family.

The fact that Lilo gives Pudge a peanut butter sandwich to appease him is even sadder when you realize her parents died in a car accident when it was raining, meaning she's doing it because she's afraid she'll lose Nani too. There was a pretty good written article I read that suggested Lilo was on the autistic spectrum from some of her actions(her being unable to express herself when Nani grabs her arm, her strange story with Scrump and Pudge). I love that Nani is proportionate in this film and looks normal rather than having an hourglass figure or anything like that. My favourite interaction between Jumba and Pleakley is and forever will be: Jumba:(Sees Pleakley wearing the wig)...What are you doing? Pleakley:Nothing! Jumba:"Say, I want to try it on..." The movie was originally gonna have more focus on racist tourists, like them asking Lilo if she understands English. She takes photos of _them_ to mock how tourists always take pictures of everything. Unfortunately tourists cause a lot trouble for Hawaii, both its environment and culture. Even the place where Nani worked is the kind of place that's made to please tourists instead of actual locals. When she's fired, Nani briefly mentions she doesn't want to be a part of such fake Lūʻau anyway. Lilo feeds Pudge the fish, because she believes he controls the weather, which seems to be her way of dealing with the fact that her parents died in and because of a bad weather. There is actually a deleted scene, where Stitch causes Pudge's death. It was a very dark scene, but it showed great character development for Stitch that made a lot of sense: he caused Lilo to drop Pudge and be attacked by gulls and only laughed when Lilo yelled for help (because he was created to enjoy such things.) Sadly Pudge dies and Stitch is confused when Lilo is angry with him. Lilo yells at him that Pudge was part of the family and you never let someone who is family die. Stitch is quite shaken and watches as Lilo buries the poor fish, next to her parents' graves. It is then that Stitch truly understands death and cries next to the grave when he is alone, and Lilo comforts him. And that's how Stitch learned to care about life.

i never fully realised this until now but that scene when Stich was saying i’m lost it’s because in the ugly duckling book the duck said “i’m lost” and thenin the next page a family found them. It shows how Stitch picks up on things he sees like when he acted like a dog when looking at the poster so that he can get out of the pound and it just makes the scene even sadder.

I absolutely love Lilo & Stitch! The relationship between Lilo and Nani is one of my favorite things about this movie. Frozen gets a lot of credit for being a movie about the love between sisters. Frozen is good, but Lilo & Stitch did this so well. In my opinion, Lilo & Stitch is a much better story of sister love, and they did that 11 years before Frozen was released.

Fun fact: The “adoption” papers Nani was signing to adopt Stitch is actually a paper that was from Disney saying that the directors and producers were making Project LILO & STITCH. It was also saying about their participation and support for making the movie. That’s all I know about it but I’m thinking that certain people that sign it can participate and support making the movie.

Fun Fact, well not really: In the chase scene when they were trying to save lilo, originally Jumba’s ship was originally a ✈️ and showed them chasing through the city. In which this was in production probably in 2001. Disney had the animators reanimate the scene because of the events of 911.

The original finale featured an airplane hijack followed by an epic chase through the city, narrowly missing buildings. Of course this was scrapped due to an event that happened in new york during production. The airplane was changed to the large space cruiser we have now and the city roads to the rivers and valleys. you can still see some designs left over from the change

I’ve always loved Lilo & Stitch. It’s a unique idea and it was done really well. I consider it to be the last of the really good 2D animated Disney movies. It’s got great themes and some deeply heartfelt moments. It does a great job at presenting life from the “weird” kid’s point of view, something I can relate to. I really can’t think of anything I don’t like about it. Also fun fact, this movie features more Elvis songs than any Elvis movie

Theres so many hidden details in this movie. The whole idea is that she feels out of place and being a native hawaiian she feels like a tourist attraction by tourists so a way to cope is that she gets obsessed with tourists by taking photos of them.

when i was a little i used to hate nani for being so grumpy at lilo because when i see lilo, i see myself. i am the youngest sister! and i have 3 older brother who always get grumpy, and too protective! but now as i get older, my brother moved out & have their own lives with their fiance's:( i miss them being grumpy & they being protective & their laughs!! anyways, love the reaction tim!!! still i'm gonna request for you to react: Inside out hehe!!

fun fact: the spaceship chase in the climax of the movie was originally stitch & co. hijacking an airplane and flying through a city. but then while they were working on the movie, 9/11 happened. so of course, suddenly, having a scene of hijacking a plane and flying it through a city would be in extremely poor taste. so they changed the entire sequence, redesigned the airplane to look like a spaceship, et cetera. if you look on the back of the 2 disc dvd case (at least the europe version? i don’t know if it’s different elsewhere), there’s still a screencap of stitch surprising the pilots of the plane, which doesn’t appear anywhere in the movie.

Wow, i thought i remembered this movie very well, and indeed i remember how story goes but i think last time i watched it was just too young to realise the emotional weight of it all. So thanks for this video, because now i know i need to rewatch that. Also honestly, animation and designs of the aliens are fantastic, so more things that kinda, got kinda blured out in my memory
