Kayla: The high maintenance trait really is the WORST thing in this game Batuu: Why thank you

They should add the ability to like or dislike holidays in The Sims 4 and your sim should not become sad for missing any festivities if they dislike the holiday

Kayak needs to do the biggest build possible. A house made for 8 sims, on the biggest lot with 8 stories. It would take a while, but I would definitely watch a series ❤

I wonder, when you merge the families, which last name will you keep? I'm assuming Bell, since it has been so long, but I think like a double name could also be fun, Bell-Bird or something! Anyway, very excited about how this will go :D

For harvestfest I usually get my teens to spam thank you letters so they get their empathy up 😅

I feel like no one knows this - those seed packets from the gnomes are worth $100 if you put them in your family inventory and then sell them. Sometimes I make a gnome army!

I'm glad my lag problems aren't just my computer!! it's been so frustrating, and the last time I played a chair and the cat adoption agent were completely glitched, mods that I deleted also keep redownloading themselves but that's a separate issue I think

As far as I know, if you set the table, the Sims will usually prefer to sit there to eat. So, if you want tour Sims to enjoy a meal together sitting at the table, setting it should help

the fps drop seems super common but it fixes itself immediately if you just press escape to open the menu and sometimes fixes when you open build mode!!

Seed packet spawning is definitely weird. My first Harvestfest, in 2019, had the gnomes spawning dozens of packets... a day... for an entire sim year... the second Harvestfest apparently reset them so after the holiday ended they stopped. Subsequent 'fests produced roughly 5-20 packets total, while in other saves I got only 1 or 2. Playing with a gardener I once had no packets spawn at all, while my scientist had about 10. The logic is *fascinating* :P

Every time she puts the paper holiday crafts above the stove it makes me anxious even though it's the sims so it doesn't matter

I really wanna know what’s up with the excessive lag lately, I mean my computer isn’t great but it’s just been worse and I don’t think it’s because I added more packs (at least I hope lol). I know April’s gonna end up with Dory but it’d be cute to see her with Nadia’s son for a minute (already forgot his name whoops)

We do the same thing for thanksgiving! We have maybe a light breakfast, or just fast until the feast so we can all be sure to be very hungry! I think it's the best way to do it since then you have the rest of the afternoon to relax and maybe have a turkey nap!

for the really bad lag: that’s been happening to me a lot as well, i usually save and quit and then open it again and it runs smoother

Put the happy gnomes in a Sim's inventory and the seed packets will go directly into the household inventory. Way easy than tracking them down all over the lot.

High maintenance is the worst trait ever until you get the sim a yoga mat or meditation stool, at which point it's never an issue again (as long as you keep up your wellness practice).

I've never had the best service ever, but it's practically impossible to do ANYTHING in build mode lately at the speed(or lack there of) that it's running at

I figure you know this and its for the laughs 🙃😉, but yep, wellness activities are the way to control the high maintenance trait. Makes sense given that trait came from the Spa Day pack.

What you do about the High Maintenance trait: You get a retraiting potion, and you change it. No, literally, it's the worst. I had a Sim suddenly get in an angry mood, shouted forbidden words once, only to then have a heart attack, and die within one minute of play time. Don't ever accept the High Maintenance trait.

You can pick a bowling ball from the rack so long as you're not currently bowling

I love that inghe nightmare legacy challenge Dory is BARELY keeping up to attend college, while April over here got the opportunity to graduate early XD (i know it’s bc this is a normal lifespan gameplay, but still, it’s kind of hilarious)

Helpful tips. Sims prefer to eat at the served table. If there are two tables on the lot, then the Sim will sit at the served table. Want to eat outside in the summer? Put the serving on the street table but remove the serving at home.

i think april should graduate early. it helps w skill gain and she can grind robotics until graduation and be set up more with skills. and it benefits in other ways too

Have you noticed that in the horse trailer a horse or bottle (idk) revives someone? At the end there is a purple/pink ghost and in the next scene she is alive again.

One Thanksgiving, my godmother left the cooked turkey on a folding table in the kitchen. The next time she saw the turkey, she was watching it disappear under her 20 pound Maine Coon cat, who had leapt onto the turkey and clung to it with all four legs, until the table, turkey, and cat all fell on the floor. The kitty was fine, and very proud of himself. 😂 My godmother said she still served the turkey, she just served it sliced, and cut off the claw marks and parts that hit the floor.

one time i tried to get the wellness inner peace aspiration with a high maintenance sim... one of the goals is to not have a negative emotion for like 24 hr iirc? it was hell on earth

I played harvestfest a few days ago and i didn’t have any problems getting seed packets, maybe it’s a matter of clutter? Like maybe the seed packets can only spawn if there’s a certain amount of room on the floor around them? Idk

I just moved my sims over in a new save as well... I've been playing on it for over 4 years and it was buggy, lots were glitching and yeah... Its sad cause I had like 24 generations of sims on long lifespan in that save, but I cant wait to play in a much cleaner save file... I moved with me my current household as well as other important families to me, like the vampire from gen 4 and so on, and kept all their houses as well!

Just want to add to the comments that I too have been having a weird increase in lag lately in my game too. And it's actually a pretty new save too.

man, the lag is still a problemmm :') i learned that if i quickly open the mennu and then close it out ( i typically save when i do) the lag disappears

I get lag issues as well and that's when I take my CC and mods out 😅. But the lag is worse with the mods and CC,though I am using a regular laptop not a gaming laptop.

It will never fail to irritate me how simsie just REFUSES to use the wellness items to make the High Maintenance skill waaaay better. The catharsis buff only takes 30 seconds of meditating !

Ever since the last patch my game has lagged super bad. I keep having to reset everyone or clicking on the menu just to get them to move. It's so annoying.

I don't think they tuned the seed packets, i just had the gnomes in my game yesterday and got TONS of packets, maybe there isnt enough room in the house. I cheat and drag them outside to more spacious spots :P

I also am having major glitch issues, to the point that the game is almost unplayable. I don’t even use any mods. I have to close out the game and turn off my computer for a couple of hours for it to start working normal again.

*A yoga mat is a must for a high maintenance sim.* I don't know if this is going to get lost in the sea of comments, I have no idea if someone has pointed this out before, but I just have to throw this in: when you've got a sim with the high maintenance trait, you can have them do a single move on the yoga mat and it will replace their negative moodlet with a positive one. I promise it works just about every time, as long as they haven't tuned it yet. Keep a yoga mat in your inventory, pop it down when your sim gets Poseidon's kiss or the wakes up with the worst day ever trait, and you'll never have to worry again.

I was playing earlier and my sims cat I stole off the street died today, was expecting it tbh since I got her when she was an elder but now my sim who witnessed the death has like three sad moodlets
