Love these drawings! Selkies also appear in Irish folklore. There's a good movie called the Secret of Roan Inish that had a similar premise to your selkie character's backstory. I definitely recommend it!

There are multiple water deities in Egyptian myth, one of whom was the lord of crocodiles and the creator of the Nile. His name is Sobek and I mean the vibes are there. I had no idea about the "sirens" though so that's super cool
