@@alexcoyg3281 yes, but that wouldn't make it necessarily bad. it felt very basic and bland, and I'm not talking just about the writing. even sex and the city had its specific vibes and it was vibrant. with emily in paris i was so aware that i was watching a show the whole time; it didn't transport me anywhere. such a missed opportunity.

I absolutely loved this show. I binged watched it in a day. I love Paris, so revisiting the gorgeous scenery was what first attracted me to the series. And then I stayed for the fashion, romance and light-hearted comedy. 🤍

This series esp the ep1 is somehow a BIG SLAP to entitled americans (as portrayed by emily) and those tourists who goes to countries where English is not the first language. They think everything is about them, they think that the locals should adjust for them. English is universal language but ppl won't adjust just for you. You are in my country, learn our language, know our culture (esp if you're gonna stay there for years). Don't expect ppl to be good on you. I love the part where Luca told Emily that *you live to work and we work to live.* that shit got me bc it's real and it's happening.

Love Lily Collins, but this was such a mediocre show that was almost always leaning towards cringey. Even she couldn't make the main character likable. It's full of cliches, so many stereotypes about French culture and an underlying American lens on other cultures by making them seem inferior to their own. I'm not even French and it was not enjoyable to watch. It's purely escapism at best with such a romaticized version of Paris. I thought it reminded me of Sex and the City but this pales in comparison to the writing and storytelling. Do better Netflix. You cancel so many good shows but put money on things like this.

Yeah, Emily's character was a little too confident and annoying in my opinion. It was easy to watch, not too brainy, but it isn't an amazing show. It had its' funny moments and the fashion was beautiful (too cliché, stereotypical and impractical, but beautiful nonetheless) but they could do better.

Hi I watched the series Except for the landscapes and atmosphere of France The quality is pretty poor, a lot of messing with sex at an inferior level, as if people have nothing to offer except cheating and pursuing interests Low and disappointing speech.
