The color blue is usually associated with sadness. So many times I've seen people say this song is meant for those with blue eyes. Emotionally abused as a kid, had to lie all the time to protect myself and that made me the bad man...joined military and went through horrible things...came back not myself and wanted to go back, guys in my unit were taking their lives and leadership turned us all against each other...got out...10 years went by and still alone. This song is fitting to describe me. My parents still the same so no relationship. Never had anyone to turn to. I keep it all inside but im still here alive. Wish i could find a person to lean on but have yet to find one. And just turned 30. Used to guard Air Force One in DC. Part of me wishes I had not made it back home from Afghanistan so someone else could have. Can anyone relate? Because too many take me for granted

Been playing this nonstop ever since my grandfather died. After he died, my mom’s beatings gotten worse. I can heavily relate to the lyrics. The first time I really heard this song was in 2003. It was on an airplane, this song was playing when all the passengers were about to board. That was 20 years ago...I'm 30 years old now and I was 10 years old at the time when I heard this song with my mother. Since that day I associate this song with a lot of things, as soon as I hear it I always see myself on the plane with my mother....how quickly time flies. Depression is a silent and effective assassin. Exposure is it's kryptonite, sadly like an abusive partner it holds its victims hostage through fear and shame. It even pits it's victims against those who could help by planting seeds of irrational resentment. If you are suffering please don't hold it in, tell somebody trustworthy what you are going through so you can get the help you so deserve. For the rest of us It's our job to stay vigilant and make sure we give our loved ones every opportunity to ask for help

Recently going through the loss of my wife who decided I am no longer worth her love, I didn't realize how much I've been bottling up my feelings, trying to remain "strong" until I just read your post. Hiding my feelings has not been easy, yet it's what's constantly encouraged to the point of ridiculousness. "Stay strong", and "You'll be OK" are the two most common comments I hear, constantly. Why do I have to stay strong? When am I going to be OK? I just lost the love of my life. I've never felt more weak and powerless in my entire life. I know I'll eventually recover, but why do I have to rush it, or try to ignore it? Why do I have to stay strong? Because I'm a man? I feel like I'm bottling up my feelings and staying "strong" so the people around me feel better. How is that helping me? All I'm doing is making their lives easier. Fuck them. I'm sad and miserable and I need to be! If they don't like it I'll just avoid them so they won't have to shed a tear for me. I don't need anyone's pity. I just need to let my feelings out. If I have to do it alone then so be it. Thank you for opening my eyes.

I've liked this song since i was little then i heard it on supernatural and it bought me straight back to my childhood. This song has so much meaning for me. It helped me through my abusive childhood, everyone at school thought i was weird cause they didn't understand this song and thought it sounded too much like '"Adult" music. I grew up getting beaten by my Mother, and my Father was violent too. We never had food, in and out of foster care, didn't see my father for 8 years, had drunk people coming in and out of house. I know my childhood isn't as bad as some other people in the world, but it was hard for me. This song honestly saved me. Music is so strong in helping emotionally.
