I have no idea why Fred Durst had so many haters, he was seriously underrated as an artist and live performer. In my opinion he deserves to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. His style of music and talent deserves more recognition.
@lebourreau71773 жыл бұрын
He was a big douche in the 90s and early 00s. To be fair, extreme fame and fortune can do that to people. I think that's why he's kind of out of the public eye now, he prefers privacy now

Late 90 early 20 everyone Hated on him cause he "sell out"putting out what was popular at the time rather then what they originally wanted to put out. Listen to 3 dollar bill y'all and chocolate-covered starfish. Two very different albums. And along guys songs to WWE or whatever company. He was in for the nookie
@christinasimula19742 жыл бұрын
I agree he was very underated as a preformer, however I also agree he was a total dick once he became famous, BUT that shouldn't matter if we are just going off him being very talented as he clearly was/is!!
@jeremyshea80552 жыл бұрын
Because he was the face of a genre that was perceived as fake and soft. The fact that the genre was called "nu-metal" probably has something to do with it. Metalheads were looking for every chance they could find to discredit their talent. Had the genre been called "nu-music" things wouldve been a little different for said genre. Its kinda stupid but its the truth.

preach brother. As far as covers go, and what they should be, this is up there with Sound of Silence by Disturbed. On top of that, for me, this was the strongest performance of that night, followed closely by Sum 41, which rocked the fuck out of the show's intro, but basically played the original songs as they were.

revdavid11 Right?!! Look, ok.. ok... I get it. I understand why LB fell off the face of the fûcking earth in their latter years. Unlike the band this song covers, they were pathetically one dimensional. However, Fred Durst has a voice that is capable of reaching down into your gut and pulling out the deepest, ugliest memories of anyone's life. It's because of this, that they found success in the late 90's & early 00's. Just like Korn. Just like Staind, Just like Deftones. He had that gifted, guttural wail which every young, disaffected youth could relate with. Talk shit all you like, Limp Bizkit, in their prime, was the fûcking shît.
@dalstar9256 жыл бұрын
Tyler Keller abso-fucking-lutely. Bizkit was the shit in their prime. I, like most, quit listening to them and thought they were just kinda lame and a “left in the past” kinda band. Man was I sorely mistaken. My band mate mentioned to me how sick they were and I kinda laughed it off...went back and listened...so dope. John Otto is freakin nasty.

Then please, tell me why tens of thousands of people show up to their shows? All members in LB are extremely musically talented including Durst. His lyrics are excellent.
@sataniccyanide69766 жыл бұрын
Stewart Ross Justin bieber got 300k at one show. Are you implying hes good? Because large show = good right? Anybody who can honestly say they're all musicians talented enough for that kindda platform has clearly never played an instrument. And its not even debatable that fred durst is shit in every possible way.

In that show, Limp Bizkit were the ONLY band who dared to do their own take on a Metallica song, and what an awesome result.
@hudsonbarth56415 жыл бұрын
I’m not much of a fan of Limp Bizkit at all, but I really do think this is the best Metallica cover of them all. It’s because they weren’t trying to imitate Metallica, no one can even come close to doing that. They put their own spin on it, and it was awesome

I'm a 70s through the 80s punk rocker and i like most metal bands ,and the bizkits done a great job of this metallica track, , hats of to em.

Some will accuse me of blasphemy around here, but as a MetallicA 20-years-long fan I almost prefer this version to the original one, it actually sounds like a Bizkit song. And it's absolutely the best cover made in the whole MTV Icon project...

This cover is tremendously good in the sense that it really was adapted to their style. They made it their own very respectfully. BUT It is second to Korn's One cover. THAT performance was off the charts in many senses of the expression.
@dorohedoro14242 жыл бұрын
I don't prefer but this is a good redition of the original and it's a limp Bizkit song made originally by Metallica
@jennyjenny83232 жыл бұрын
This one and the one Korn did of “One”. I don’t care. To me, it’s true. I’ve been a Metallica head for over 20 years. These new bands deserve respect.

I still get goosebumps till this day watching this. They had definitely the best performance that night for damn sure. All were good, but i remember watching this and going insane when this came on and blew my mind. Wish limp bizkit was still alive and kicking like they used to. They made the early 2000s metal great. I was scared in the late 90s.
