Mostly because they've already proven themselves as a quality act 20 years ago. They're really only still somewhat relevant because of how insanely popular they were in 2000. They've achieved legendary status and it's impossible to dismiss them. But they're not on top anymore, you're never gonna hear them on the radio again and they're definitely not gonna outsell Ariana Grande nowadays, like they used to outsell Britney Spears back then.

This song was played a lot on the radio during the 2000s when I was a teen. It gained more notoriety after Undertaker from WWE used it as a theme song. The style is called Nu-Metal. It's a blend of hip hop, rap and metal. Limp Bizkit was one of the pioneers of this style alongside others like Slipknot and Mudvayne to list a few. Fun fact: It's been a long time, so people usually don't recognize it, but the band made this video on the rooftop of the Twin Towers before 9/11.

When Fred Durst came into the scene; he originally wanted to be signed as a rapper. The record label told him that the industry already had Eminem as a "white rapper" and if he wanted to be signed then he had to form a rock band. Fred infused his emcee rapping skills with rock to form Limp Bizkit as an alternative rock band. I believe this was also a similar situation with Kid Rock.

I grew up in the DC area, Fairfax County to be exact and they usually played stuff by Limp Bizkit,Korn,Deftones all that Nu Metal,Alt Metal,Punk etc. on 99.1 HFS. DC 101 started to play that stuff early 2000s, like maybe 2000 or 2001ish. I haven't listened to traditional radio in over 20 yrs now so i wouldn't know what station they would play this style of music on, possibly DC 101 since HFS left and moved to Baltimore. DC 101 back in the 90s was mainly a classic rock station, 50s-early 90s rock, so Beatles to GNR. Also interesting fact about HFS when it was in DC, during the HFS festival in 2002, they had Eminem come for a surprise performance causing massive tidal wave of people that caused a stampede since no one knew he was going to be there, it was a rumor at best. He premiered The Eminem Show there and people got injured due to the stampede which is why concerts and festivals now have a crowd divider... well that and mosh pits.

I’m am more than willing to admit I’m a Limp Bizkit fan ! I know they have their haters! I saw them back in the day at a few festivals and other shows. People can talk trash all they want, but when they took the stage and just let it all out, the vibe took everything over. The pit was as intense as any hard core show. I wasn’t sure if rap/rock was good or not at first. As far as I’m concerned from my timeline, Aerosmith DMC collaboration was the first big success/controversy when they did Walk this Way. Aerosmith and DMC fans were mad. But it was still a hit. Anthrax and Public Enemy stirred the mix up with Bring the Noise. I feel that they set the stage for a moment

To see a "softer" side of Fred you should listen to Behind Blue Eyes...awesome song.

This was "Pop" back when it came out. Like Limp Bizkit/Smashing Pumpkins/System of a Down/Evanescence/Korn ect were all Pop radio tracks. For the past 20 years we've had the same generic stuff.. Like sure these bands were pushed out by record companies with producers, but they were still original as hell compared to what we hear today.

You ain’t disrespecting nobody bro. In the words of Fred himself, “For me it was never about the rock, it was always about rap and the rhymes”. I forgot the interview I watched where he said those exact words.
