Personally I don’t believe the customer is always right and also servers don’t get paid enough to give an over friendly service but I do believe it should be reasonable.

Yeah but there's no reason for someone to bring others into their bad day or your drama. I used to work at a restaurant guess you have to be friendly. You have to put your problems at the door. Also I'm works out both ways then customers could have a very bad job. They don't get paid that much in there just there to at least have a good lunch. So if we're going by that logic then it should be okay for a customer not to give an overly friendly attitude at to their waitress. I have a better idea though. Both should respect each other. Respect is a two-way street. The customer should respect the waitress and the waitress who respect the customer. If the waitress isn't being overly friendly to the customer then they don't need to be having a job dealing with customers. If a customer cannot control himself they need to eat at home or pack their own lunch.

I agree that is true! It definitely does go both ways

The incentive for servers to be nice, friendly and quick is the tip. In most cases, servers will receive a good tip (20%) for their service. In some cases, even larger. Talk to most servers, bartenders, etc. and they ALL agree they want tipped incentive OVER hourly because the potential to earn more is much higher.

Funny thing: that maxim has been abbreviated such that its meaning has been radically changed. It was originally "IN MATTERS OF TASTE the customer is always right." If you tell the kitchen you want a dish with something you find gross omitted, within reason you should be able to get it that way. Never mind that it "destroys the carefully balanced flavor profile" if you don't want the anchovies in a made to order Caesar salad, they should do it. It does NOT mean customers can have the moon, or be mean to servers.

In Melbourne, whenever you order, the waiters/waitresses always "comment" on your order, perfect! wonderful! Sounds nice.
@marcusmarquez97545 жыл бұрын
I'm from Sydney and living in Sydney and yes they do that to intentionally sound nice so that they are making the customer feel good about what they are ordering .

Yes it is. If you think this is good service, then you have are certainly not educated in the ways of table service. Hospitality is key to making guests not only welcome, but encouraging them to try more. As a manager, this type of service is reprehensible. Any sensible manager would write up the server for their rude behavior.

The service of the hotel was very slow that the hotel had permanently lost its customer. The waitress was inattentive and showed no hospitality or warmth while entertaining the customer. Even the table was devoid of any essential items, cutlary, napkins, salt n water were not on the table. The food that had been served was hopeless. I would say this is the worst customer's sevice any hotel could deliver

the bigger the tip, the better the service. We stay home and save ourselves a lot of money and our food tastes so much better, and there are no bougers in our soup or spit in our hamburgers. Plus our table is clean not wiped down with a filthy rag that lays in a dirty-dish bin all day. How often do those waitresses wash their hands during their shift,?? probably none. I've seen a waitress run her finger across her drippy nose and wipe her hand on her clothes and go back and pick up a plate of food, that was the last time we went to that restaurant. We saw a porter sneeze on the table after he wiped it off with a filthy rag, he picked up the bin and left, Oh, I forgot, he wiped off the seats with the same filthy rag he wiped the table with, threw the rag in the dirty dish bin and dragged his sorry ass off to the kitchen, we should have reported that scene but figured their going to get in trouble one day and get shut down.

I would never sit down in a restaurant if I only have half an hour's time. This having been said, that place is really bad and the waitress seems to be coming straight from the potato fields.

It’s not that the customers are picky. It’s just at the restaurant in this example is just failing on all ends from the kitchen to the register and the table service. The lesson to be taken from this is that all restaurants should prepare forks, serrated butter knives, and spoons inside of a neatly wrapped napkin which there are multiple techniques to do that. Also, a key mistake is that she was letting customers list their needs instead of asking them was there anything else that she could provide for them all so she didn’t have a smile on her face also, she should’ve been the one to offer them both water in the meantime, while they wait for their beverage or meal.
