The main level crossing in Lincoln, on the high street. Lincoln (Brayford) level crossing is only 160 metres away. This is one of the most misused crossings in the country, and one of a few crossings located on a high street.
The crossing has five warning lights, four barriers and four loud alarms. It is located right next to Lincoln Central station.

3 years of this at university was hands down a highlight for me, I would get excited where as my friends wouldn’t, best when you had to wait for the freight trains to go through or when the flying Scotsman came this area was packed! Best part about Lincoln!

You notice during the time of 0:25 to 0:35 the right hand crossing lights seem to flicker a bit weirdly

People screaming when the alarms turn on lol These alarms change pitch in different weather conditions.

Yeah, to be fair the alarms are quite loud here, and there's four of them. You would've thought people would hear them and keep the crossing clear instead of blatantly ignoring them and wandering across.

UK Level Crossings Channel it is worse on a night out, people drunk and attempting to cross is some of the worst things I have witnessed!

Yeah it's definitely quite a busy crossing. It's very much like Poole, located on a high street and majority of use is by pedestrians. Also like Poole, it's probably one of the most misused crossings in the UK.

That dog clearly hates alarms.😄 Seriously though gulls like roosting in fields and parks on the ground, hence the number of them, and they love rubbish bins and tips.

I miss the old layout of this crossing from before 2007 when the signal box was still in use and a long time before the footbridge was built. It was all semaphore signalling then as well. It had one of the most unique wigwag layouts I've ever seen on any crossing. It had 3 normal ones and then there was a vertical one and then another one in the vertical layout but mounted horizontally so that the amber was in the middle and the two red lights were to the left and right of the amber. I've never seen another crossing that had that layout of lights and I wish they had never changed it. Couldn't tell you the number of times that I went over the crossing as Lincoln was our local big city for shopping in. This new layout just doesn't have the same character for me

Yeah, I've seen photos of the old crossing, it definitely looked so unique with the horizontal light. It's a shame no-one filmed it before it was changed, or at least I haven't found any videos of the crossing in its old state. However, even in its current state, I find this one of my favourites in the UK. At least with the high street now pedestrianised, there isn't busy road traffic using the crossing. It's good all the alarms are loud and the new footbridges provide some decent views of the station.

@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Wow! In Broughty Ferry I think their is only one or two Alarms. I don't go to the Crossing anymore I go to the Station instead or sometimes Seabraes Bridge for Trainspotting

Brilliant video! 👍👌😁 I do quite like this level crossing if I'm honest, but it isn't my personal favourite in Lincolnshire, although it does seem far better with the very loud alarms! The weather didn't look brilliant, although the Class 195s look and seem far better than the old pacers did.

Thank you UKLC&TC 😊 Thankfully the weather improved later and it was dry for the rest of the day. I was looking forward to filming the 195s then two came at once on the first closure lol. It's definitely a nice crossing in a nice city. Wouldn't chance heading anywhere towards the south-west of the city though 🤔

I am absolutely appalled by the misusers here! Woman with her dog, and a man with a little child! If you are stupid enough to misuse dont risk others lives whilst doing it!

It happens very frequently here, even though there's an accessible footbridge beside with lifts. People are way too impatient nowadays.
