My fav album is “Hasten Down the Wind.” That’s a great song. Karla Bonoff wrote st least 1 on there: I think “Someone to Lay Down Beside Me. “ Beautifully written and sung. Compassion for the human condition: our loneliness and our drive to connect somehow, any how.

The vocalise (oohs) at the end is a tour de force all its own. So much flexibility and control of sustained tone, breath, vibrato and pitch. Maybe you need to be a singer to really appreciate it. I know I couldn't touch it.

Karla Bonoff wrote this and Ronstadt's 'Someone To Lay Down Beside Me'. Karla Bonoff and Wendy Waldman and Linda Ronstadt all sang on each other's albums and Wendy is also a songwriter. Anywho, they've done all kinds of things together, even live performances. They were all with same label. Their album art is even similar. ;) It's fun to compare their versions of songs.

My shelves are full of her cds my mind is full of her melodies that made every song sound like it was written just for her, my eyes are full of her too I can't take them off her, I could say in my heart but that's so trite. Where do I put Linda Ronstadt from Tucson Arizona? I can't put her anywhere only God is great enough to do that. I'll just listen.
