Several websites will give you different advice, it is down to you who you choose to believe. Douglas will also tell you that parabens and silicones are bad for you on their section on Clean Beauty, which is absolutely not true. So again: You choose who you trust and then live by it.

I also want to add that the Copper Peptides don't play well with other actives so, if used at night, it needs to be on a night where retinol isn't used. If used during the day, avoid Vit C. Etc. It requires its own dedicated night of use. This can be frustrating for some and might help you decide to buy the original Buffet serum, which is also a fantastic choice, and plays well with others. I skin cycle so it isnt a problem for me to use the Copper Peptides at night on dedicated nights. Also, the Buffet serum has a new name from The Ordinary and I believe it is called the Multi Peptide + HA serum, or some form of that. Thanks for the great video!

Thank you for adding that information. Kind of Stephen recently did an overview of the literature where he pointed out the reactivity of Copper Peptides is more a myth than a fact and that they can be combined, but most brands advise against it in their product desription, so it is definitely something to have in mind.

I have been using the regular Buffet and i also noticed my peach fuzz growing a lot faster. New subscriber! I love your calm energy 💕 I was wondering about the efficacy of amino acids in skincare versus peptides, by logic I assume that since amino acids are smaller they would work better as they can penetrate deeper, similar to glycolic acid versus mandelic acid, would this be true in this case also? and since they are the building blocks of peptides would they have the same effect? Thank you 😊🙏
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. As for your questions: I don't think we can say for sure, but only because they can penetrate doesn't mean they are more effective. Peptides are messengers, which amino acids not always are, and just like having the building blocks to a key doesn't equal having the key, the same applies here. Some are supposedly soothing though, so no need to write them off either.

Thanks for the video! I would be extremely grateful if you could cover growth factors, including SH-Polypeptide-9, the VEGF responsible for blood vessel formation, and its possible negative impacts on fair-skinned individuals with a tendency towards rosacea. Apparently, the production of this substance can be triggered by UV radiation. In darker skin UV does not penetrate deep enough to cause „damage“, but for Fitzpatrick 1-2 UV rays can induce synthesis of VEGF, which in turn can lead to telangiectasia. I assume that - if the topically applied GF penetrates at all - it could have a similar effect and lead to undesirable results for a large portion of us, with couperose being rather common in the northern hemisphere. Thanks in advance for any evaluation of this! Liebe Grüße!

I don´t completely agree with you here: First it matters a lot which kind of Vitamin C you use. L-Ascorbic Acid is highly reactive and unstable, that is true, but the derivatives aren´t, and they are more commonly used these days. Vitamin C as umbrella term isn´t specific enough, as "Vitamin C" on the label means very different things. The next thing is that L-Ascorbic Acid is present and gets stored in our skin for longer periods of time, so following that argument, you could only ever use Copper Peptides if your skin would be depleted of that, something that hopefully never happens. So while I personally would not recommend mixing the two as in mixing them in the palm of your hand, I think it is perfectly fine to use one, let it absorb completely, and then use the other.

No. Skin doesn't work that way. You can supplement some of the natural production declining, but your skins collagen production is determined by internal factors or things like UV radiation for the majority, not by the skincare you put on top.

I read an answer from decim for the same question and they've answered to use the buffet, leave it for 5 minutes after application, let it sink in the skin, dry out the top surface and then you can apply tretinoin, waiting time is to avoid negative reaction between the 2 product's if they'd mix. Also if your skin dries quickly (you know your skin type and how it behaves overnight with tretinoin) add moisturiser 5-10 minutes after tretinoin to keep the skin moist overnight, also try to sleep on your back if possible, not sides, that also contributes to wrinkles, ages skin, gets it stretched, soggy etc. Hope this helps.

@@DoctorAnne I have sensitive and fragile skin I guess, I can’t tolerate vitamin c or niacinamide percentage above 2%, and my skin cannot use skincare with slicone(hence I am not able to use any sunscreen because over 98% of them comes with silicone). As such, I don’t even dare to try retinol/retinoid kind of stuffs. This is the main reason I am turning to peptide. Can I use vitamin c serum with the copper peptide? Thank you Doc!

Copper peptides work best in an alkaline environment and Ascorbic Acid best in an acidic one, so while you can, it is usually not recommended. Vitamin C derivatives are different though.

To be honest I wouldn't go for one of these, but look for a gentle cleanser and a soothing moisturizer first to get your skin barrier in order.

Hi Dr.Anne, I'm wondering..which one would u recommend more between The Ordinary Buffet and Estee Lauder Advanced Night one? For a 20 years old who would like to smoothen her laugh line😁 Glad I came across ur channel, ur reviews are amazing!

They are totally different, you have to see what works better for you. Both are merely supportive there so, if you are serious about preventing more lines, you should look into a retinoid.

OK by me looking at you your left side looks firmer spot not as plump as the left side I think the right side looks better though because it’s firmer so it would be your left would be my right and vice versa! And it’s extreme in my opinion! I definitely would choose the left side which is your right;)

Nah! The more I think about it I think it’s probably the camera angle which makes it look so extreme! For sure! You’re stunning!💕

@@valerierowell5313 I assure you that in normal life I don’t really see a difference either, the light and the camera does play tricks on our eyes.

@@safiasmart8441 I recommend you watch my videos on the different ingredients to get an idea what might work for your concerns and then pick one that has these ingredients. From the few things you have said Niacinamide might be helpful as well as something hydrating.
