Over a year and 120ml later, I'm ready to share with you all my experience and thoughts on the Ordinary's "Buffet" as well as "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%. As some of you may already know, I had 3 CO2 Fraxel Laser sessions to address my old atrophic acne scars. During the healing period, I set aside my tretinoin prescription and L-ascorbic acid serum because I was quite red and I did not want to use actives that I knew ocassionally irritated my skin. I instead opted for peptides as a gentler active alternative.

Love your insights! I use Niod copper peptides (huge fan of both but the lipid is my fave for night time use), tret x3 nights a week, survival 0, modulating glycosides, always spf. I also keep the Buffet with copper peptides in my arsenal. Deciem is a seriously impressive brand. Thanks for sharing your thoughts & experiences!

Sounds like you have a solid routine! I've been thinking NIOD CAIL is more up my alley because of the texture. Maybe when November rolls around I'll pop it in my cart 😬 thanks for watching!

@@michxmash I think you’ll really like it! It starts as a gel and as you spread it it liquifies into a lipid. Little tip, only prick a tiny hole in the aluminum seal or too much product will dispense and you’ll run through it too quickly. It’s such an elegant & effective product! A treat to use. Look forward to your thoughts on it once you’ve had an opportunity to try it out. Take care!

I've used both versions of Buffet and like them both. I tend to buy the large size of the regular Buffet and use it as a first step after cleansing.

I like using it pretty early in my routine as well! Seems to just fit better after cleansing or a toner.

Thank you for comparing these, the names being so similar was confusing. Your skin looks amazing. Curious what tretinonan product you suggest? I use differin at night for my hormonal acne, and have read that tretinonan may work better for my oily skin.

I was actually thinking of the Rovectin Clean Forever Young Biome Ampoule the other day. It has a thick gel texture and I enjoyed using it last summer. It is the serum that actually hooked me into continuing to use fermented serums!

Can the Buffet be used with the vitamin C derivative Sodium Ascorbal Phosphate? It's in Ole Henriksen Truth Serum that I use. Or is it just L-ascorbic acid that it cant be used with?

I forgot where I heard it, but LAA and Copper Peptides are usually recommended to be in separate routines. I think SAP and peptides are okay since the pH is the same.

I wanted to buy this but I didn’t know if they are safe during pregnancy. Didn’t see any information on their website regarding pregnancy. Do you know if they are safe during pregnancy as I stopped using retinol? Thank you so much for your information!

I’m having a difficult time with pilling and the Buffet+Copper Peptides. I wash my face, let it dry, apply 2-3 drops, followed by a moisturizer and then sunscreen. It only started happening when I added in the Buffet+Copper. Any ideas!? I really want to be able to use it. I’ve also tried with a few different moisturizers. Still happens….

I haven't used that particular product but when that's happened to me before, it helped to apply my serum onto the skin while it was still damp after washing or after using a toner. It seems to help sink in, and stopped the pilling with the moisturiser on top

I 2nd applying it while skin is still damp! I've never had an issue with pilling in my skincare - I always apply products like this ☺️

Do you feel you see more of a difference with the copper peptides or with bifida ferments?

Currently I find fermented serums essential in my routine because of how it strengthens my skin barrier. I'm starting to use NIOD CAIS3 more consistently though now that I'm done with the Manyo ampoule I was using. I just want to get a good grasp on what else copper peptides can potentially do for my skin. I'm probably going to incorporate a fermented serum again after a few weeks.

Do you think that The Buffet is better than any C vitamin serum? Because i was thinking of buying th COSRX C-vitamin serum, but now that i know that i can use the buffet as a c vitamin serum instead?!

Buffet may brighten like vitamin C but will not replace its antioxidant properties. For that reason it will not replace a vitamin C serum. Perhaps evaluate your current skincare to see what will be best to include. May be one or the other, both, or none!

Buffet is good but I love the other serum more - Matrixy 10% +HA. Have your tried their ascorbic acid+ alpha arbutin serum?

What do you think Matrixyl 10% has done for your skin? I tried the alpha arbutin serum and the ascorbyl glucosate one years ago. Both brightened my skin but did nothing for post-acne red marks.

@@michxmash it's rather subjective feeling. I feel buffet is more like a normal hydrating serum while Matrixy gives makes my skin softer and plumper overnight.

@@michxmash I've been repurchasing Matrixyl for lots of years on and off. When I tried my first bottle was back when I was 19 and had my first signs of forehead wrinkles and Matrixyl completely eliminated them. It was the only non-retinol product that worked so well for wrinkles on me. But im now on tretinoin (3 yrs now) and so I don't really feel like such a need for it since Tret takes care of that.

I had a bit of irritation the first handful of uses as well. Try to slowly include it in your routine and stick to nighttime just in case!

Test around the orbital bone. I usually apply my skincare all over unless it's a more intensive active like tretinoin, AHA, etc.

The formula of Buffet + CP is what gives me that brightening boost, not really CP on its own. I have NIOD CAIS3 and I don't really notice the same brightness I would from a vitamin c serum. Though it has helped with my skin quality, thus making my skin tone appear more even.

I have acne prone skin and never had issues. Having said that, don't count on this to help with acne, best to use an actual anti-acne active.

I don't see why not if your skin can tolerate it. Personally I'd probably rotate the serums every other night or use one in the morning and one at night.

I've never tried ANR, but I've used Korean skincare with bifida ferment and really liked the results.

Genuine question... why do so many women like to have this wet/ shiny appearance to their skin? I see if very often in these skincare videos. I'm a male and I have a skincare routine but I don't want to have a glossy appearance to my skin... having a clear and radiant tone that's more matte satin is far more natural looking. If you look at children's skin, it has a glow but is definitely not glossy. As a male, I personally don't like this glossy look on women and I don't find it flattering. Women look so much better when they don't look excessively shiny nor have too much makeup on. Yes, this is my preference and opinion, but I'd bet most men would say the same. So I'm genuinely interested to learn why many women like and want this look?

I guess it is a "glass skin" you are referring to. I also kinda don't get the fenomena because in real life it looks more oily than glassy. It bacame popular from korean trend. I guess it gives off the healthy and moistureised look of the skin. But I can't stop thinking that it could feel sticky under the fingers but not necessarily. So whoever likes whatever 🤷‍♀️
