It struck me that the jurors were shown and their names given. These days jurors remain anonymous during trials, and even after the trail is over it is up to the individual whether to go public, or not.

This case and this media coverage is the reason why it became illegal to have cameras in court rooms for such a long time, isn't it? I think they felt like the media coverage gave the prosecutors an unfair advantage, didn't they?

Perhaps. It was already not allowed in the court room. In fact a judge said anyone bringing in a camera would go to jail during this trial. .

@@martineshamzin7535 I don't think it was actually an official law yet, until after this case, though. Maybe the judge just decided that he didn't want it for this case, and then they decided to make it an actual law, after the fact, because they realized they needed to.

Recent books & information show Hauptmann did not have a fair trial. The new book “Suspect # 1” was actually Lindbergh himself.

I think Hauptmann was the con-man who extorted the reward money from Lindbergh. In another documentary I learned Lindberg followed NAZI ideology and Eugenics. Lindbergh's son had rickets. I think the Lindberg's maid witnessed something in that household. Lindbergh himself is a prime suspect.

This is undeniably an inside job, and I am one of those who believe Lindberg was involved. Whoever took the baby was clearly informed of the whereabouts of the family that night. I live just a couple miles from the scene which is to this day very remote not visible from the small country road that passes in front. Lindberg was known to display despicable treatment of his son because of his racist eugenics' beliefs and the little guys imperfect health.

I was just on the Lindbergh property a few days ago. I wasn't able to go any further because it's a detention Facility. I don't think Lindbergh had anything to do with it. And inside job perhaps. People need to be careful of conspiracy theories. They will never be solved because those who enjoy theories like this will not profit off books, DVDs, public appearances Etc if it is solved. Just like the JFK conspiracies. It's very profitable. Undeniably Hauptmann but had help. Sometimes events simply occur. Not that there's some extravagant plan or conspiracy it just occurs that way.

I think you need to look a little more closely at the facts if you are truly interested in the story. It's very easy to come to your conclusion because what is out publicly about the story is based on the Adoration of Lindberg himself. There are many stories as I said about Lindbergh abusing his child because the child had rickets as well as Lindbergh being a eugenist devoted to some perfect white race thing. When you put all of that together with the fact that the guy was never at that house with his family on a Tuesday night it was their weekend home that he missed an important speech that night for no apparent reason and since you were on the property you know that nobody just stumbled across that scene. If it was an inside job meaning it was someone other than lindenberg himself that would have been pretty easy to determine because there was only two other people there. I would not accuse a father of murdering their child unless I believe there was a plausible Theory there I am a father myself. The fact that Lindbergh was a racist is disgusting but not material for my thinking on this issue.

@@KarmaKamala-2024 I don't believe he intended to kill the child I think the ladder broke and the child was killed or badly injured at that moment and others disposed of his body. I think Lindbergh's intention was to have the child taken away somehow let enough time pass that people would forget and the child would end up being raised by other people. Again I don't believe the death of a child was part of the plan.

Yes. The timber used in the ladder matched his attic floor, the money =(1/3) was from the ransom.

@oliviamartini9700 2 жыл бұрын
@@emmabovary1228 the timber only matched if another piece was slotted in. The money belonged to Isidor Fisch, who took off to Europe and died. It took him two years to spend any. Even if he was involved, he wasn't the one who killed the baby, especially when he had a son the same age. He was a thief in Germany, but he wasn't a killer...and clearly three men were involved.

CL put himself into leading the Investigation and the police were so in awe of him they deferred to CL & so no one investigated CL & one thing I’ve learned from true murder investigation shows is the 1st suspects are family members. 🤔 The prosecution held back exculpatory info from the defense & that info didn’t come out until after the 60s with the Freedom of Information Act. Hauptmann offered to take a lie detector test and truth serum but they wouldn’t let him. The judge was very Pro-Prosecution. Hauptmann was railroaded & from what I’ve read in recent books, “Suspect # 1” (CL) should have been put on trial.

They called it "the trial of the century" but , in 1935 , that was a little premature. By the 19990s The O.J. case had overtaken it.

I feel so bad for this babies mother . She probably know her husband got rid of their son because of his challenges and special needs. When the baby was alive Lindbergh wouldn’t let his wife show affection toward the baby in his presence.

The guy was 100% guilty. He had the ransom money. His explanation for why he had it was absurd. He had done similar crimes using a handmade ladder just like here, as he was a carpenter.
@gokaren420
@gokaren420 2 жыл бұрын
Innocent man executed. That ladder wasn't useable. He was a carpenter and would have built a real ladder. No muddy shoe prints in nursery. Nobod new where baby room was except family. Ladder would have been deeper in mud if used. Charles missed a speaking engagement and didn't call to say he wasn't coming. Hauptman had witnesses that saw him at the time of alleged kidnapping. ..his wife and another gentleman. He explained how he got the $$$. Charles refused help from experienced FBI and threatened to shoot cops that went over his head. Cremated baby quickly. A racist nazi that believed in eugenics and was ashamed of the disabled boy. No pics of kid after the age of 1. He thought himself better than others and couldn't dare have a mentally and physically challenged kid.

Well, the case against him for extortion was incredibly strong. the case for the kidnapping not as much. His story, about someone-with German accent-leaving the money behind didn't help him much.

More likely, poor baby, parents, Anne, his wife, and his son. He was arrested many times in Germany for burglary and using a gun for robbery. That is why became to USA. He had escaped jail and was on the run. He was a psychopath who ruined many lives including members of his own family. I have some sympathy for his ordeal, and that of his family. .

They could've blamed anyone, but I guess it makes sense to blame the guy who had the money, jafsys address I'm his house, several witnesses identifying him, the ransom money, happened to live in the area close by jfsy, psychopaths do a great job of convincing people they're innocent. Even knocking on deaths door they'll proclaim innocence. Look at every serial killer that was caught, 95 percent will still say they're innocent

Poor toddler Poor Anne Lindbergh was an awful Nazi sympathizer & Hitler admirer. He was the one who took the child & was responsible for his death- the child had deformities & did not fit his views on Eugenics. The child had just had his hair curls, yet they gave the press photos almost a year old. He called his child “ IT “
