Line Tape Machine DIY, Perfect for Basketball, Pickleball, Tennis Court Lines

This a basic line taping machine for my backyard basketball/pickleball court. I made it using scraps I had in my shop. Hopefully it will make painting the court much easier! This is the first time I have tried this way of shooting a video. The angles could better, but I learned a lot during the process so it is a win 😊

Hi To get masking tape machine to put down tape in a straight line you need a pointer 300mm in front of machine, and remove this and use a short pointer for curves with 25mm masking tape, good luck.

Great Job! I am getting ready to paint my court and today these machines are $1,400.00 ! Do you have any plans for yours? You said you would make some changes if you did it again. Can you share your thoughts. Also, can you share a picture of the finished court? Thank you

Thank you! I do not have written plans. The number thing I would change is the wheels. I was using whatever I had. But real wheels would help it roll easier :) I can't attach a picture to comments on here

I paint tennis and pickle ball for a living . I use the taper that can turn and make circles this is pretty awesome your just missing a pointer guide ! 👍👍👍

This looks great. I have a friend who wants me to make him one. What was the black you wrapped over the PVC? Was it just for looks? Does the whole thing rest on those black rollers then?

Thank you! It is black vinyl, I thought it would help a little with grip, electrical tape would work just as well

In replicating this….looks like you freehanded the shape to the vertical handle portion just keeping it fairly wide towards the bottom. That sound about right? What is the rough dimensions of that part?

Hi John, yes, I freehand drew it. The top is about 9 inches wide. It is about 12 inches tall.

hello, hello. what kind of machine that is on your top of red tank ? looks like some air compressor ? Did you made that thing?

It is a super dust deputy with a modified harbor freight dust collector. All of the tools in my shop are connected to this for central dust collection:)
