Any tips for the lost Y-spacing done by having the rail mounted in front? I've been thinking that maybe driling new holes in the bed carrier, or the y-extrusion itself, or even adding a small additional piece of extrusion in the front of the printer would be all options.

I have seen several of these kits advertised and most use a mgn12c rail instead of the mgn12h that is used on the y axis. Do you know why?

As you said, it's one of the last upgrades you do, but even then it makes so much more sense to upgrade Y which is much heavier and problematic first. Or even Z. Otherwise there will be just absolutely no usable benefit.

I agree with you that Y and Z conversions are more beneficial. But for somebodies' first attempt at linear rails conversion, The x axis is the easiest and can provide the necessary experience to move to the other axis. The Y and Z conversion can be quite frustrating as you have to align the 2 linear rails in tandem for smooth operations.

@@yogitech-3D For me I went with the X axis conversion first simply because I kept having issues with the v wheels and unreliability. The different between the two are night and day when it comes to getting accurate ABL meshes. No more 1st layer problems for me. And that was after I changed out my v wheels 3 separate times.

U should thighten the rail from one side, then go from that side to the other, this Will make sure the rail is as thight as possible against the aluminium profile! (same as cross thigtening a rim to a car)

great video! i would recommend to tighten the bolts from the center outwards. This way you even out the material tension of the rail instead of cropping the tension in the center.
