With having overlay screens its not as simple as just changing a background images or icon colors. I know this question is one that gets asked a lot so we may be able to offer something in the near future but nothing currently.

@@fx4den540 Steering wheel functions still work with this product. My navigation is now 12.1 full screen in the provider I choose to load up. You have the ability to load apps directly onto the unit. I have Google maps loaded, multiple nav apps, weather channel, etc. As far as music, I did lose sirius..However I now have Pandora, Spotify, etc as well as tons of fm radio presets. It also has a 4 channel amp built in, so my stock speakers (to be upgraded next) now sound better as well.

Very sorry to hear you feel this way. We didn't send out units knowingly that they would fail. We really strive to take care of our customers as best as we can. We had an influx of tuner failures that all came in a relatively short time (About 3-4 weeks). We had units that were a week old, others that were 9+ months old. There was no common line in production time. We then went through our entire production line to try and find a flaw in production, but we weren't able to find any production issues either. We went through our software over and over again to see if it was a software issue, to find no problem there as well. We asked questions with our customers to see if we could find a common thread in how the system was being used, or if there was a common thread in outside forces, like vehicle trim, or different electronics in the vehicle. To find no common thread there either. Our Engineers all stopped all work on other projects to figure out what was happening with these tuners. We reached out to our supplier for the tuners daily looking for answers and no one was able to explain what was happening. A month later we still do not know what caused these tuners to fail, nor do we know why it was that about only 10% did. The only common thread was the tuners themselves. So all we could do at that point is change our source and purchase a different tuner. Which is what we did. Our lead engineer spent 3 weeks replacing the tuners in all our stock and our factory is now producing new systems with the new tuner. Once again we are very sorry that you were effected by this issue. We hope to earn your respect back in how we rectify the situation.

So sorry to hear that. The B&O system is a digital system that requires an extra interface and harness. It took us a little but we now have a B&O interface now that will work for the GEN 2. Unfortunately we cant support the same for GEN 1 due to the limits of the CAN BUS interface on the GEN 1.

Jesus Batista you cannt run apps off the external hard drive but you can use a superset hard drive for memory of movies, music and files.

Guillermo Jr find the orange wire on our main power plug that is 1 pin in from the corner. That should be a remote turn on. Splice into that wire close to the side of the plug that plugs into our radio.

Righteous One our vehicle specific systems replace the climate controls and you control them from the touch screen.

Ray Gomez the GPS cable is needed for both the built in Nav and the Data based Navs. So it is needed.

We have not tested the "Restart" feature, so we cant say for sure about an automatic vehicle restart. We are able to do 90% of the factory remote start features. We can control both the heated and cooled seats as well as the heated steering wheel.

We aren't doing any work on designing a system to retain the factory SYNC system.

That what I thought too. It's over 1k but it canceled a lot of things. Like CD player, they still have space under the screen to leave it in.

Louis Koerner only set up we have that would work in the 06 is our Universal Double Din 10.1”. Does all the same stuff except the climate control interface. To install you would just need the installation kit and harness adaptors for your truck and it would install like an industry standard double Din radio. bertraminc the UI was designed to look like a factory UI, we have added color though in our GEN 4 UI... still keeping with the same Factory look though.

We have been working on developing a Sirius tuner, and are waiting on Sirius to approve us. We are stuck until they decide they want to sell us the remaining lock files we need to make the tuner work unfortunately, it is now out of our hands and we just have to wait. In the meantime the Sirius app works in our CarPlay/Android Auto app or you can use a hotspot and install the Sirius app to the system and run it through the tablet itself.

I have also checked in my area, the San Francisco Bay Area and I have yet to find anyone who does these installations. So sorry about the customer service ball drop. When it comes to the R&D for each system its hard because when the rubber meets the road we are an aftermarket radio just like any other aftermarket radio. Where we strive to retain as much of the factory components and functions as possible sometimes the amount of cost and work it takes to retain a factory component don't add up. An example would be the factory mic and the factory antenna. We are setting out to produce many more units for many different car makes and models. In that Ford's Mics and antennas will be different them GM or Dodge and so on. So with components like a Microphone or Antenna it makes the most sense with R&D time and money to use a universal application that will work across every unit we design. The antenna we use can be mounted under the dash so there is no visible change to the vehicle appearance with that. With the microphone it just falls on the nature of aftermarket radio. All that to say we very much appreciate input, we do want to design and build a unit that the majority want so please continue to offer ideas and if we can make it happen we will.

@@LinksWellInc I totally understand that sometimes there is no obvious work around. So then the next question is are the efforts to just get products out I to the hands of the customers or develop a well rounded product to where post efforts are developed towards post consumer expandability. I would off to say that consumers like myself look at the claim of factory appearance and then there is an odd and somewhat obtrusive mic somewhere in the headliner. Which in all appearances is an after thought solution. I would rather spend money on a complete product that truely is plug and play with options for expansion such as external microprocessors or integration if aftermarket light switching systems. With manufactures designing vehicles now that are much easier to modify, the days of having to splice in components are over and with the wiring and programming information readily avail (Ford's openxc), it really appears that if a little more time is spent on doing it right the first time, the quality product will Garner better profits in the long run. You can make everyone happy, but more appeal will come from a complete package solution versus extra components needing to used. Not trying to be difficult, just would rather pay a few bucks more for a well researched product on the market with an extremely clean install. I'd pay more for other expantion options for such a system. Again, great concept that has huge potential, that at the minute is marginally ahead of the competition. Albeit four weeks have passed since our postings and at the moment, i hadn't heard back from customer service department.

@@ericjohnston3167 again we appreciate your input, we do truly want to build the best product we can. There are 2 forces in play with product development as a whole. One is how advanced can we create the system, the other is how much will the end product cost and will it be something that a customer is willing to pay for. We are fighting for sales in a very hard market. With other companies building systems that are very similar to ours, with these companies doing less R&D work they can sell for much less. You also have the major brands in the industry and trying to make a product that can compete against the big brands is difficult as well. It is a delicate dance between it all Cost vs Features. Demand Vs Supply. So that is one side of the fight. The other side is when you are interfacing with the factory CANBUS system, you are correct the opportunity for expansion is there, but so is the opportunity for issues. When the factory can re-flash and reprogram the vehicle the next time you take your car in for service it opens up the flood gate for issues to arise with our products. We have experienced this numerous times on our interfaces. We build a system and it interfaces with the vehicle perfectly, then a factory update rolls out from the manufacturer and it renders our systems glitchy, dead or worse it causes issue in the vehicle itself. We always figure the fix out, but it can at times leave a customer with a stuck system until we get it fixed. So when you depend so heavily on the factory equipment, you really are placing hope that what ever updates the factories do, it wont effect the way you interface with the factory equipment. So its not a lack of thought behind product development, but it truly comes from wanting to be sure we build a system that is as reliable to the end user as possible. Using products that we control helps prevent interface issues from arising, issues that we cant do anything to prevent, but issues that could ruin the customers experience with our products. All that to say, we are always looking to make the next Generation better, and we do it taking into considerations all possible situations. Specifically with the Ford we have been looking into more factory equipment interfacing, including SYNC, Mics and more. But we are not confident as of yet that it will prove reliable for the long term. On the personal not, with the lack of response from Customer Service, once again so sorry for the ball drop, that was due to a staffing situation over the last 2 months in our office and we are getting that worked out. Lee davis well the idea is that wouldn’t happen. We are however looking into adding some physical button for this and other reasons. Our GM system has physical buttons and we got such a big response on that we are working on adding them on other systems as well.

Average Golfer we do not connect to the OBD II itself with our Generation II systems. We are in the CanBus to gather data, but the OBD itself remains open for your tuner.

Klownguy22 SiriusXM requires more than just an antenna. Currently we do not have the ability to control a SiriusXM tuner, though we are in the process of getting approved by SiriusXM to add this option. The process is at least a 12 month process and so the option is not one that will be available in the near future.

Adam pen this unit won’t. We are beginning the development process to go back a generation in the Ford. But it is months away. But for 2004-2008 I think that one could use one of our Universal 10.1” Double Din T-Styles

SiriusXM is proprietary and you have to control their tuner and go through their development process. We have been working through this development process for about 3 years now. I posted an update video last month that we are really close. Generation 5 has all the parts needed physically so once SiriusXM approves our interface our Gen 5 radios will get an update to activate the components to run their tuner. I can’t give any more specific timeline because we have no control of it. It’s 100% in SiriusXM’s hands.

Improved from the GEN 1? Not really. The GEN 2 platform runs the same Android platform which is what dictates how quick it can boot up. It does it with a faster processor and much better CANBUS interfacing for the car. As well as a huge upgrade to the climate control interfacing as well. Takes away the need to disassemble the factory climate control for factory parts top swap over, and we redesigned the bezel to accommodate 3 switches across the top for the higher trim level trucks. Our GEN 3 platform offers a "Sleep" mode which gives a quick boot up if its restarted within 16 hours of shut down. But we haven't decided if we will build the F150 (or other vehicle applications we currently have on the GEN 2 platform) on the GEN 3 platform. We may jump to a GEN 4 for all applications. With GEN 4 the sleep timer leaves, due to a higher Android platform, but the boot up time we hope to get down to around 10 seconds. Boot up time is tough, even our cell phones take a bit to fully boot up from a complete shut down and our radios run on the same style platform. Just part of what happens when building on Android platforms, it functions different then a standard radio platform, good and bad, its a computer so needs to boot up, but because its Android you get the Google Play store and all that Android has to offer. But we promise we are working hard on making our units the best they can possibly be.

Well we do not know all the specs of the other companies product. We also do not want to build our name up by stepping on the name of others. All we can tell you is the feed back that we have received from customers, but to boil it down simply, we are based in the US. So we ship from, test in and do our product development here. Giving us an advantage in how well we can service our customers and be sure our products work the best. Most the other companies do all their R&D over seas and ship from over seas. Which means you do not have live customer, or technical support and you have about a 6 week turn around on delivery. We also offer features they do not, one of which will be our new factory Ford 360 Camera full function retention interface set to release this month. We also are able to retain things like factory remote start and other features. Our CANBUS system allows us to do more then most of the other companies out there. We are confident that our products are top notch, that our customer support is one of the best and that our product development and software teams are among the best in the industry.

@@IntentGohanWe do not. All of our units are strictly touch screen.

You don’t need to go into the advanced settings any longer. Go to settings/System/Settings Guide/Car Model AC. Then follow the pages. There is step button step instructions available on our website as well.

@@LinksWellInc yeah I found it with the FB forum. I had to set the protocols to 2013-14 Ford with Manual HVAC. Now have to get the buttons to work to turn on the Pass air bag.

@@LinksWellInc so the cables coming out of the back of the CD player, for those who have them, aren't important in the connection process? I was worried that those were main power connection cables from the truck's main harness.

Bobby Heimer they are. But the trucks without a CD player have the exact same radio module it just doesn’t have the CD slot and the internal parts for the CD player. But the radio chassis is still there. As are the same main power plugs.
