Welcome to our Laniwai Spa day at Aulani. Laniwai means "freshwater heaven" and it truly is one of my favorite places on earth. I called to book our appointment for the Honihoni “Sealed with a Kiss” Duet. It's a 50 minute treatment and the description is as follows - "Experience a lomilomi massage especially designed for couples. Enjoy your choice of tropical body butter kisses." It's $185 per person.
Since we are DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Members we were upgraded to Couples Signature Lomilomi. Here is the description - "This traditional Hawaiian massage is passed down from generation to generation by healing kūpuna (elders). Indulge in a gentle, rhythmic massage incorporating lomilomi sticks and warm river stones to release tension, pain and fatigue, all the while replenishing the mind, body and spirit with positive energy, increased circulation and muscle tone." This treatment is normally $195 per person, but with our DVC membership we were charged the $185 rate. Be sure to mention that you are DVC at the time of your booking and/or when you check in.
I booked our appointment for 10 AM. You're invited to arrive an hour early to take advantage of the Kula Wai Outdoor Hydrotherapy Garden. Here is the description from Aulani's website --
"This 5,000-square-foot garden retreat offers pampering amenities at every turn. While subject to change, amenities include:
Private vitality baths
Co-ed soaking pools
A reflexology path designed to massage the feet and lower legs
Cold water therapy plunge pool
6 rain-style showers
Heated whirlpool jet spas
A lounge area with a menu of healthy foods and beverages"
It's a wonderful place to relax. At first I was bummed that they don't offer day passes, but it's a blessing that they don't because I think they do a wonderful job at spacing appointments so at times feel like you're the only one enjoying the facilities. After our fabulous massages we stayed a little while longer to enjoy the garden. Laniwai Spa is always one of the highlights of our trip.
