It's funny, I would never consider 60 km from the place you grew up 'be native' to the place, but that's probably the scale of giant countries. Whereas I'm from a small country like the Netherlands. I'd call my native area anything that can be reached with a car within 15 minutes or within 30 minutes by public transit.

@@Murderbits That's just wrong (imo). Creativity isn't limited to Video, Art, Music and such. For example i do think that Software Engineering or Coding in General is a very creative task as finding solutions to a problem can be a lot of "how am i putting this together so it works, or maybe that. That's a way i could connect those technologies." which, at least to me, is a kind of creative work - if you know what I mean.

The fact that LTT became far more successful on KZfaq than NCIX ever hoped for (like literally 10x more subs), and the fact NCIX went out of business due to poor business management, speaks words.

Such a great video, once of my favorites. When I was at LTX last year Linus's ride to the conference left without him and I drove him and another person to the conference center and got to talk with him for about 30-45 minutes and I realized he's very genuine. We didn't even talk about tech, I went on a rant about motorcycles specifically Harley Davidson and was shocked to hear that Linus isn't a fan of rider aids on motorcycles. I wished I would have more time to discuss that because I was ready for an argument about how no person can react as fast or as precisely as modern ABS and traction control in all conditions. And while they do increase the cost of a motorcycle it's money well spent on something that doesn't remove anything from the riding experience while having the ability to make up for a mistake or variable road conditions. Anyway, Linus is super cool as is all of the staff at LMG I got to talk to.

And sometimes that same technology that makes things safer stops you from doing some things - I don't know this 100% but I'm pretty sure drifting or wheelspin isn't as easy with traction control as it's one of the key areas it works on, maintaining appropriate friction on all wheels to prevent any loss of grip

Yeah, I've got it bad too. Had an Android/Google-related blog from 2009 till last year and I lost interest in most tech things whilst that was going. Partially cause of other things too, but mostly cause tech companies are just too thirsty for attention and sell you shit you don't need, just by putting a bigger number on things that aren't important. Like 99% of phone specs. People are catching up to that slowly. They don't understand they're selling to actual people. I do love stuff like new display tech and folding phones tho, but that's mostly cause I have huge hands and love smooth UI's. But what do I know, I still rock a Pixel 2 XL, and will till it dies. I hate doing anything on a phone, mostly cause I'm on a PC way more.

There is certainly phone fatigue. I used to upgrade my phones yearly, than it dropped to every two years, and now im sticking with my old iPhone X and i dunno when i upgrade. It works fine, it has enough performance for me, and the battery life is still good. Why should i upgrade? Not passionate about it anymore. Funny enough though, i was tired of building computers for the last 10 years or so. I got my custom computers build by some store, but only every 3 to 4 years. Now i think about building my own rig for the first time in a decade again. It will be fun.

This Interview/Podcast is so good! How both of them moderate it and have like a 50/50 splitt of talking time. How Sara asks questions that trigger a nice story and actual conversation of a topic. The same with linus kind of interviewing her of her path, feelings and expectations! Greatly done!

Dang Dang this was eye opening. Sponsorships separated from Editorial Productions Honest about irrelevancy of sponsors Plex versus iCloud -> I had no idea! Going to try plea because my iCloud is always full and never renewed 😅 Then statistics on videos, markets, industry trends, et cetera I wonder if Linus’s or the team has read Factfulness?! Establishing fun in productions Also said, establishing the atmosphere for the audience. Similar to theater. 🎭 Yeah, duh! It’s inviting people into an experience. You two do great work on this. Having Parameters for what makes a video Evergreen helps asses content. Clickable thumbnail styles are a tactic that needs to be assessed just as any other strategies. Channel for typical Channel for evergreen Channel for . . . Just like Netflix helps people find their niche in stand-up comedy, KZfaq helps people find their niche in content. A brand can serve multiple niches segments into its own channel. Probation Period acclimated the crew with the new member. Then that new member is acclimated just as slowly with the audience. Then being human, admiring mistakes as a brand, make plans to prevent those mistakes, and then actually behaving to prevent those mistakes. Linked here; Casey Neistat also explained the necessity to be human on KZfaq: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/heCZob2Asaydenk.html Linus would have helped out of generosity. (Idk what the debacle was about.) Sara & Linus are great at this. Both were able to quickly dig deep into topics without stagnating. P.S. I would LOVE to know ALL the behind-the-scenes to the social media presence that Sara briefly alluded to. The relationship dynamics, trial and errors, lessons, deals, negotiations, partnerships, efforts, everything. 👁🧠👁

I watch Linus because he is passionate, enthusiastic, honest, and very knowledgeable...and that carries over into the rest of his staff. I will watch other channels on many other topics that have knowledge with enthusiasm to varying degrees, but Linus is at this time one of the best... he is also not crazy in any weird ways, or cocky. He is mild mannered and very real and beleivable human being. not putting on a show. So much of this world is fake, not just scripted, even if Linus is reading a script, he is not fake.

Of course he still sounds salty. He loved ncix. He mentioned it in the interview. He loved the company for a long time and to end up leaving on somewhat bad terms because of a boss that's too shortsighted left a bad taste in his mouth. Even though that spat with that ceo was the thing that led linus to the career he has now it's still was upsetting to him to see a company he loved for so long go down the path to its own grave and he was powerless to do anything about it. Im pretty sure that if ncix didnt flop, linus would be segueing to ncix as their sponsors.
