It wasn't until he got the Phantom 4 that he started to add daily drone footage....and I don't buy the story it's because the propellers come off easily, the P3 props are easy to take off too. Has he uploaded any drone footage where he isn't breaking the law? Mexico maybe?

I have a buddy who flies for CBS. he does mostly golf and disc golf, but will be doing an upcoming rally race soon. the FAA registrations are a huge holdup.

It'd be something to look into and if there's a possibility in making money out of it then the hassle could be worth it.

+Unstoppable Pigeon I mean you could. But that wouldn't solve the obstacle issues. That would help tremendously for positional tracking, but if you want it to follow you, or another object at a relatively low distance that won't help with avoiding obstacles or maneuvering.

It could have some pathfinding.

+Unstoppable Pigeon but as for what you're suggesting, using a 'tracking' chip attached to the operator wouldn't allow for pathfinding, unless you had a satalite with live image feed targeted on you (which would be obscenely expensive). pathfinding would only work, if it had line of sight image tracking (which it does now) or if it had details about every little thing surrounding it. which, isn't possible using a GPS chip

JasonPlays I hadn't seen the Inspire 1 when I posted my comment but yes it is. The Inspire 1 is much better if you get it with the X5 camera, but only if you're getting into aerial photography. Which I am.

Different beasts. Phantom is good as a point/shoot, throw on a back pack etc. The Inspire 1 pro, where you can change lens etc, great tool for Film/TV etc, but twitchy, and a pain to travel with.

If you are looking into getting your first drone and you have never flown before, got a Syma X5 on Amazon, you can get one for under $50 and it's practically indestructible, so you can learn to fly a drone properly on that. After you have learned to fly, I recommend getting the DJI Phantom 3 Standard which you can get for as low as $450 on Amazon. This drone has a 2.7K camera and a perfect 3-axis stabilization gimbal that will give you footage that is as perfect as the Phantom 4. The video downlink isn't as good, the controller has far less range and it also doesn't have the optical sensors that the P4 does, but it does come with a waypoint mode and return to home if something goes wrong. It is the best value for an aerial photography drone out there, and I am still using a Phantom 1, and if was able to, I would buy a Phantom 3 standard as an UPGRADE to what I have now.

+Bendik Eidshaug It depends on your case and your airflow , if you have no fans in your case expect the one on ur PSU and CPU and GPU it's better to have the case open HOWEVER it gets really dusty , if you DO have extra fans it's better with the case closed

+Bendik Eidshaug Bit-Tech.net covered this many years ago, obviously the specs of modern stuff these days has changed drastically, but they offered a great insight. They found that it was quite beneficial to have a side panel with a cooling fan, and found that the side fan was more beneficial than any other fan (against t-delta). This is going to change a lot depending on the other components of course. Do your own test with your own rig, use your preferred monitoring software and grab a cheap digital thermometer along side it (you don't need an expensive one, you are going to be comparing it against itself) - you can use it to get ambient temps before each run and put it in the case while running a bench and compare the deltas, In the PC with it benching, in the PC benching with no side panel, in the PC with side panel with a fan. Each time checking the ambient temperature and comparing it against each run. The closer you can get the case to ambient temperature the better, and it's as simple as that really.
