The minus -5 +10 damage feature of sharpshooter only applies to ranged weapons (including darts), but the ranged extending part also counts for thrown weapons. If the intention is damage piercer is better, if you want more flexibility sharpshooter is still worth the feat. Depending on the battle maneuver for example being able to hit at greater range can be way more influencial than piercer in terms of damage. If you can't hit you do 0 damage.

Yeah I was still pretty tempted to triple my javelin range and have no cover issues, but ultimately I decided the +1 STR was too juicy to pass up, especially with feats only and snagging another +1 soon

I think it looks nice and isn’t too loud. a little goes a long way/ less is more in my book (but walking down the street, clearly I am somewhat in the minority 🤣😜), at least the for reals, everyone sometimes should go wild with the temporaries
