You say they wouldn't film an animal when it's sick and dying but they're filming an old lion losing his pride to 2 new youngsters. That's got to be the lowest moment in this lion's life. He'll probably never attain that status and security again and will probably die a sad and lonely death before too long.

At 1.11 the old lion gets back to his feet, and again goes to take on the young males again in one last stand. As the young lions retreat just for a second, knowing they are victorious the old king is ready to take them on again. The heart and fight off a lion can not be matched . What beautiful beasts

A lion would rather die no other way. They are conditioned for this. It probably took them 2 hours just to get this warrior to this point. Plus they're hurt too. Once that adrenaline wears off they both will be limping.

It's just the game of numbers. The one who finally took the beating had one of the young lions in his jaws (you could hear the young one weeping) and this gave the other young lion to get up and grab him by his spine.

I know this is nature, and it’s been played out for thousands of years but still makes me feel sad. Like when you get an old boxer into the ring to fight a new, younger, stronger, fitter bloke, the end is normally tragic to watch.
