4 жыл бұрынThe Ximhungwe lion pride with members of the Mapogo male lion coalition finish a nyala meal at the staff quarters and head off for a drink at the dam. The lion cubs were tying out their roaring sounds but were still far to small to make an actual roar! A very short version of this lion footage from 2011 was previously posted on this channel but here is the complete sighting from the archives.

Yes he has. Ironically the oldest Mapogo.outlived all of his younger brothers. Not a surprise that in the end he was with Pretty boy who always flavored Big Mac; the same way T flavored KT and DL favored Rasta. But unlike other lions, they got along just fine when they met at the boundaries after they split into two coalitions, protecting easter Sabi sands with the western part.

Hey Rob, question do the crocs respect the lions cause I’ve never seen an attack on a lion when they drink water - I’ve seen attacks when they swim across river but never when just drinking

I think that is is more that lions and other cats tend to drink at very shallow spots so it is hard for a croc that would be big enough to take them to sneak up on them.

Nomadic stage, yes, two. After that we can't be sure as they headed into a wilderness area in Kruger. It's certainly very unlikely that they are still alive today as no photographed lions match their whisker patterns

@@aamerkhan5797 most male lions don't leave the pride until they are three or over and even then they have a low survival rate. At under two they would have little to no hunting skills and pretty much zero chance to survive alone

I mean just watch the 12 Mhangeni subadults case, they where 12 off them together left alone at 2 years old , 2 lionesses returned to the pride, so out of 10 of them only 1 oldest male survived, only because he started to follow one pride and eventualy get accepted. So chances that one alone 2 years old lion survive on its own, are 0.

Mangheni: daughters of mapogo, their cubs, including Kambula/nsevu, are grandcubs of the mapogo, and so on through the next generations. So any mangheni males will be grandsons of Mapogo, but sons of whichever coalition fathered them. That's how a lineage works. A lion cub receives 50% of its DNA from the mother and 50% from the father. So any cub, male or female, carries the line equally
