This is archive lion footage filmed in 2011 and i think it has only been seen as part of a highlights reel before now.

The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. What a great scene Rob. You are one lucky human being. Blast from the past. I was just thinking. It is amazing to think how this very scene has played out for thousands upon thousands of years in this same region. How perfect and undisturbed this planet has had to have been for that to hold true. And now we all reach this fork in the road where we all have to make better choices to ensure that this beautiful scene of nature and many more just like it can continue to play out for many more thousands of years. We are very lucky to have what we have here on this planet. It would be more than unfortunate for everybody to finally, collectively, and together realize this, but only when it is too late.

As usual the youngsters are full of energy and amazing to see lioness being so gentle while playing with the cub. And we are very lucky to see him pooping, we hardly see lions doing it 😂

Pretty Boy the fearless, The savage, The ruthless, Do not let his name fool you this Lion was known to have killed many Hyena's and took on all Lions who dared to face him. He was a fierce fighter and showed no mercy! Even the great Mr. T felt his wrath and it was Mr. T that Pretty Bot sent limping away. R.I.P Great Warrior

Wow... this was an actual footage of a Mapogo & the cubs? The Mapogos were the pantheons of lions. They were magnificent & singular in their existence & death.

I know all the cubs were gone within a short time after the Selati coalition took over the territory but I don't think the Selatis were directly responsible for killing most of them. It was mostly hyenas if I remember correctly

Great footage rob, just a quick question coz he looks magnificent here,right at the end of his peak, From a size comparison i know he was bigger that mr t, but compared to the other how big was he?

The only one that was noticeably different in size at their peak was MrT, the others were more or less the same depending on when they last ate. Obviously Makulu reached his prime earlier so he was the biggest for a few years.

Rob, I've noticed male mature lions seem to dramatically "fall their head down".....like not a gradual move. Like they're exhausted.....or fainting...drama like?? Also...looked up African and Asiatic lions....are these a blend? No tummy skin fold, but bushy black end of tail....?
