This is my favorite Lionel Hudson, because it is the only one I own. Great film and info.

Great find. These run great. You'll be very happy. Easy to clean inside. 3 screws underneath. No drive rod disconnects. Only he headlights wire is attached to the bulb clipped to the boiler front. Also a single screw above the headlight for front removal.

It’s not the postal worker’s fault your seller packed the engine in a flimsy-ass lightweight box.

THE 685 CAME IN AN O SCALE SET. THE 2055 CAME IN AN 027 SET. SAME ENGINE YOU NEED TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK MR. LIONEL EXPERT!!!!

The 2055 and 2065 loco's are identical in every way except the 2065 has heat recovery tank on the front and no green rhinestone lights on boiler front. You also forgot to mention, or are unaware that both those engines have "Magne-traction". 736 and 682 and some others also have Magne-traction. Other loco's do not. Tried to find a list of Magne-traction engines but couldn't find one. Although I am sure a list exists somewhere.

those are very nice and powerful locomotives. I checked and the 6046W tender is correct although most came with the 6046W Square tender. Those were made between 1956 and 1955. That tender would make me think you may be right for 1953. Good show.
@CloverdaleTransitAuthority

I am slowly but surely getting the correct tender matches. Too many people selling postwar stuff with the wrong tenders. I have been referencing the Tandem Associates website tender chart.
@richardsobieck9660
@richardsobieck9660 10 ай бұрын
@@CloverdaleTransitAuthority As I stated that was the correct tender issued the first year the 2055 came out. The 6046w wasn't produced until 1954. And I have been known to sell one with a wrong tender just to have one with the loco.

@@richardsobieck9660 I also think that if Lionel was packaging product to go out the door back in the day and they ran out of X tender, they might have been likely to throw whatever in the box. Afterall, these are "just toys for kids, right?" :D
@richardsobieck9660
@richardsobieck9660 10 ай бұрын
@@CloverdaleTransitAuthority that was a common practice at Lionel. Remember, they were making toys not collectibles so they would do what ever was necessary. They also had a habit of using older parts before the newer items were used. It's not uncommon to find a Post War car with one bar end truck and one Staple end truck due to this. Substitutions were common.

Looks pretty pristine, nice find. I use JT's Smoke Pellet scented smoke fluid in mine. Cheaper, easier to find and more dependable than smoke pellets.

Our delivery people are really great. But I know so many people that get boxes that are beat to hell. Very frustrating. This one was lucky not to receive any damage even though the box looked shaky.

@@CloverdaleTransitAuthority My mailman is great. Between the local post office personnel and St Louis distribution center...its almost a crap shoot which way your items are going to go or how bad the box and or the items inside are going to be. I am going to say 1 out of ten is going to be destroyed. I took a box and that was destroyed to my post office. Opened it in front of them. All the guy said...what do you want me to do about it?

If you think they're bad, you should see UPS. I once applied for a job at their distribution center; the way they threw things from their trucks to their conveyor systems was anything but gentle. They would have fired them from a cannon if it were practical. And yes, stuff gets broken, and often stolen, by their warehouse monkeys.

That's not the correct tender for that loco. Those came with the 6026W Square tender. But at least you got a tender. Many of those clowns separate the tender from the loco and try to get full price. Or perhaps more $ by selling the tender separate. Those are great running and pulling locos. Best of luck with her!
