Killer job once again! It's great to give new life to these older engines. Detail wise I think they're the same as the newer ones.

Wow that’s amazing. You do amazing work on these conversions! We loved the NYC Dreyfuss Hudson you did a little while back. So this is full legacy now? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks you! Yes its full LEGACY now. Speaker in the boiler. All the smoke features. Its basically a Vision Line engine now.

Excellent! You took the sound from the VL Challenger? Do you sell the sound board to duplicate that sound for a Legacy Big Boy model?

Its all Vision Line on the inside. It require a complete gut and conversion.

Bruk are the electrons available from Lionel to do this upgrade. I have a jlc challenger and would love to upgrade it to legacy especially for the whistle.

Would you do this again? I saw your work on the OGR forum and wanted to see if you would do this same work to my JLC 3985?

Id be willing to convert yours. But I will have to say no to extra smoke feature of dynamo and injector. It was a lot of work to install and fit everything inside the shell. I can’t guarantee long term problem free function of it.

What is the buzzing noise all about ? And did it get fixed ?

The buzzing you hear is the transformer powering the track. 18 year old Z1000.

Also it you hear clicking right when the engine starts moving. Thats me turning throttle on the LEGACY remote. I had momentum set.
