Sports journalists and pundits regularly argue the individual merits of both players in an attempt to argue who they believe is the best player in modern football.
It has been compared to legendary global sports rivalries such as the Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier rivalry in boxing which culminated in the Thrilla in Manila, the Björn Borg-John McEnroe rivalry in tennis, and the Ayrton Senna-Alain Prost rivalry in Formula One.
A big credit to HBO Sports for making the Mayweather / Pacquiao documentary which inspired me to make this video.

I'm sory Maradona, pelé, cruyff, and any other legend but messi and Ronaldo don't deserve to be second to anyone, not even to each other. I'm truly glad I was able to witness their greatness. Perhaps one day I'll tell my grand kids story's of how two men took over the world of football for nearly a decade breaking any and all records that come there way, reaching 50 goals a season as if it was a given, mesmerizing defenders, emasculating goalies, and making grown men cry with a strike of their boots cause by then football will have been normal again.

there will come a time when Both will Retire....Football will Return to Normal...where scoring 50 goals a season will be considered as a life time achievement rather than seasonal achievement...Scoring hattricks is like good achievement rather norms...and winning BALlon d or will like something which you want to win atleast once..rather than distribute among yourselves....ENJOY!!!...while you still can...we Never get to See such Players Ever after our Generation!!!

I honestly think these 2 are better than mardona and Pele, yeah they haven't won a World Cup but look what they have done at club level, breaking record after record, these 2 are unbelievable. There are great players like Pele, R9, Zidane etc. But Messi and CR7 are the two greatest players of all time, no doubt about it. No one has ever come close to matching their consistency. They've played at such a incredibly high level for years, and Messi is still unbelievably only 27. Where as Ronaldo is 30 now, but has changed and adapted his game and he's still scoring a tonne of goals and breaking records even though he has lost a bit of pace and dribbling. It's an endless debate between which one is better, it's everyone's personal opinion even though I do have a slight preference to Messi. It's such a joy to watch these two legends play and define football forever.

Amazing work man. These two are simply insane. We take their extraordinary feats for granted but the truth is, scoring 50+ goals every season, smashing records and delighting us fans to this extent is not normal. We are so lucky to watch them both play.

Ronaldo and Messi are great and we should stop arguing but if I have to choose one... I would go with Messi because he is more consistent and you can rely on him more than you can rely on Ronaldo. Ronaldo's form is declining because he doesn't get passed players as much as he used to. Ronaldo does common skills which need a lot of practice to learn because they are hard but Messi's dribbles look easy but they are the hardest thing to do... trust me. I've tried to play like both players on a pitch and I have realised that Messi's dribbles are harder to do than Ronaldo's skills and dribbles. Ronaldo trained hard to be what he is today but God gave Messi that wonderful talent which I don't think we would ever see again but... lets stop arguing and enjoy these two great players.

This video is a desperate try from Ronaldo fanboy to place Ronaldo on Messi level. I feel this is unfair with Messi, he deserves to be called clear best of our era. Those who believe Ronaldo is on Messi level are victims of marketing and judge by final scoreline. There is no doubt that Ronaldo is a great winger and striker but he is unlucky that there is someone who is synonym to football, something football world never saw before and many doubt will ever see again.

This Ronaldo vs Messi narrative is very silly, made up by English and Madrid media, let's be honest they're NOT close, Messi is on a different galaxy to everyone else. Ronaldo is a great of the game, no doubt about it, but Leo's legacy will be tainted by this "vs Ronaldo" BS, people will look back and think they were close, they aren't, Messi is beyond anything this game ever saw, hopefully this whole "rivalry" thing is erased soon, Manc/Madrid bullshit.
