He’s the best dribbler ever, the player with the most assists ever, and one of the best goalscorers ever. And he’s got the trophies to pretty much make him the undisputed GOAT. Nahhh...Iniesta had better intelligence and understanding of the game on the pitch. I think kdb is a better passer/assist maker. Xavi was definitely a better play maker. The pool of Football players is much larger than any other sport, so therefore mathematically there is much closer competition. Ergo being the greatest Football player by a good stretch, means you are the best athlete in the world.

The reason he is loved so much, besides for his talent, is his ability to get up when fouled and keep the game going quickly. He never dives to get free kicks or penalties. messi's low center of gravity and his short feet are the attributes aside of his dribbling skills and football iq that makes him literally unplayable. if you ever played against a guy with a similar build you'd know the feeling. they be unguardable

When people say that Cristiano has more athleticism, they forget that Messi is incredibly athletic as well, just in a different aspect. Messi has athleticism in the art of not falling down. Cristiano has compilations of himself falling down for no reason. But he is very athletic in terms of his jumping. They are just different kinds of athleticism, but it bothers me people seem to forget how incredibly athletic Messi is.
